Cannot update?

Hey guys, I just downloaded the beta (funnily enough).
I went to go start it then it says it needs to update.
Once i select yes I get the message:
Could not find latest patch version.
There might be an internet connection problem or server is down.
Any suggestions on what i could do?

and wen i enter my keye (that i got from myis) it says invalid

right click run as admin(the update manager)

make sure you put it in right! or PM him back,id give you mine since i cannot play this due to connection loss issue but mine is now tied to my email/EA account

I haven't imputed my key yet, just getting into the game.

Make sure to use your existing EA account if you already have one, there could be benefits for vetereans. At least in the final game.

i think i might need to clarify this:
This isn't a key issue.
This isn't a profile issues.
This IS a start-up issue.

run program as admin also(got to file in program folder)games folder didnt do anything for me,I made a desktop shortcut from my program 86/electronic arts folder

Run the updater:
D:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2 - BETA
BFBC2BetaUpdater.exe
