"The register code is already in use"

So i go to get a beta key on the home page of this website. It emails it to me, I install the game, I try to put in the serial key but I get "The register code is already in use." So I go back and try to get another one using my alternate email address, and it tells me "It appears you already have a beta key."

Did I get a recycled key? What's going on?

Maybe someone had a key, and their friend changed a digit or something

Have you contacted someone here on the site yet? If not that would be your best bet.
