seriously, i played over 200 hrs in retail and have not been killed by a falling tree like in beta.

has anyone been killed by tree after beta?

Yes, i have, its just very hard for them to hit you even if they hit you sometimes they just dont kill you,but i have been killed by a tree already and it was not in the beta i'm prety sure.

But it does kill you and say "destruction 2.0"

Tree fell on me = still alive.

Gustav wall with me behind it = barely alive

C4 on wall with me behind it = DEAD

40 mm on wall = barely alive

Tank on wall = dead

APC on wall = wounded

Buiilding come down = automatic death

If you are standing right next to a building when it collapses it will kill you, it has happened to me.

I think maybe its if you are standing where the debris will be when the collapsing has finished, as the destroyed building always has the same shape every time.

haven't been killed by tree since beta. i think they got rid of tree kills.

In 1943 if Trees fell on you, you'd die, not so sure about this in BC2 though.

Trees kill you in BC2. It has happened to me before

No floating or flying debris can kill you, I've survived while standing in front of a falling black hawk and was hit dead on by the enemy only to push me gently aside. I have also survived a helicopter crash after it hit rock bottom without a scratch! The debris is only for looks and only 2.0 can kill you!

debris doesnt kill you, the piece of wall u see flying around is ghost , it passestrough you, what kills is just if you are near the wall, the explosion.
if a tree fall on you (very hard) or a house it will say **** destruction 2.0 ..asd.asd .
If you shoot something that explodes and kill someone that way im almost sure you get the kill but i dont know what appears in the kill message

In all this talk I didn't see an answer to a question I had about it. If I shoot something that explodes (gas can or something) and it kills the person standing next to it, do I get the kill credit, and is there a achievement for such a kill?

Not using C4 or rocket launcher either.

@Crunch i got to admit that it would be very awsome if there was damage/the ability yo make holes horizontally, in roofs/etc and not just in walls (verticaly) would make it so mutch better to see helicopters and stuff falling down spining like that and entering through a house.


One thing: I saw that when you destroy an helicopter it starts spining first, but does it spin till it crashes on the ground?? (imagine if the hit wasnt that hard) and you could survive, or it spins just a little in the air and it blows up just after some seconds?

And how are the car/vehicle remains?? For example when you blow up a tank does the tank stays there for many time? till the end of the round and you can allways use it as cover? it instantly dissapears a few seconds ago right in front of you? or does the vehicle remains "blow up" like in bf2 and dissapear through the ground?

I can only verify what I have played in the beta. I never got hit with debris or saw anyone get hit with debris. As far as I could tell any flying debris is just a visual effect. If someone died, or got damaged behind a wall, it was the explosion of the weapon and not the debris.

I have to agree, the only debris that I saw killing people was buildings falling.

@Crunch - I don't think a chopper going down would take down a building unless the building was about to fall anyway and the chopper hit it in the right spot.

@H4yd3n - You might find the UAV and C4 fun as well
