Anyone know if Bad Company 2 pc will have PhysX support?

I can't find anything about this. I just want to know if the Battlefield Bad Company 2 will support PhysX or if all physics will be handled by the CPU. Does anyone know? I was thinking about keeping my Geforce 9800 GTX as a PhysX card for when I buy a new video card.

I actually wouldn't count on it. They've mentioned a lot about dx11, and not much else.

And PhysX is nvidia only, and nvidia's Dx11 cards should be coming out around the time BC2 releases. Plus I don't think they even need PhysX since it mostly adds eye candy physics and the frostbite engine has more and isn't GPU dependent.

PhysX is obsolete. And no, It wont be used in Bad company 2. Its built on Havok.

Havok you say? Well that kind of sucks. Everything I have played that uses Havok physics have always had glitching like objects falling through the game level or objects getting stuck on other objects. Everything I have played that uses PhysX didn't have nearly as many problems. I suppose though that as long as the physics are handled better in Bad Company 2 compare to Battlefield 2 I'm sure everything will be 10x better. I have so many horror stories of getting out of a vehicle in BF2 and having the thing slide down a very small incline and kill me while repairing it.

Reason being that since PhysX is only supported by nvidia, pretty much all implementations of PhysX physics are purely aesthetical. If physics exist there's going to be minor bugs and stuff unfortunately... as shown by this :P

PhysX is an Nvidia marketing scam, only games that support it are ones that were sponsored by Nvidia.

There right to go with Havok, it will become standardised because of the three main backers AMD, Intel and Microsoft

Anything else will just get steamrolled

This is the list of games using havok in some form.

I know I can't say I've played them all, and the ones I've played on that list have been basically fine for physics, and some have great. yes some of those games have glitches. However it's hard to say that's havok's fault and not the implementation of it from the game developer.

There is clearly no comparison, havok has a lot more games using it, and more important more major developers using it.

As for battlefild 2 and vehicles rolling, it's best to stand on the sides of the vehicle if possible, though yes there are some situations where a vehicles will hit you a little bit and you die. However perhaps their newer hit detection in the latest patch will help with that.

Cool, I hope so too. Been with Nvidia a long time but I want ATi's 5870, like yesterday. Waiting on my Tax Refund to buy it

Physx is crap. I remember when this card came out there were about 3 games that supported it one being Advanced Warfighter. The only advantage you had back then were some extra pieces of wall falling down when shooting at a wall. We have quadcores and I have yet to see a game which uses it completely, why do I need an extra card(now within nvidia) when havok just uses the power I can spare anyway?

I hope BC2 is using whatever BF2 is NOT using. BF2 has horrible physics in my opinion. You slide down the most random slopes, sometimes when you prone, you get "stuck" and your character "bounces" up and down before you can act again(Shoot, Reload, etc) and things as such. From my experience with FPS games(COD4, WarRock, A.V.A, CSS, BF2, BF2142) BF2 has had the most laughable physics of all.

And then they followed up by disabling Physx unless you had a nvidia card. (although there is a hack out now)
