On some, but not all servers I connect to, it disconnects me after a minute or two. Totally random. Some servers I can be on all day, some are almost instant disconnects. Everything is up to date on my game. I have the game dvd that has bf2, sf, and both booster packs all in one. Any help?? Thanks!!!

Re: Server disconnect
Do you get any error messages at all? When you go back to the server do you disconnect again or is everything fine the next time?

Re: Server disconnect
Nope, no error message at all. When I try again to the same server(s) it disconnects me again. Never had this problem with the game before. Maybe I should erase and reinstall.Comment

Re: Server disconnect
You can try the old standby of manually updating punkbuster. That seems to fix a lot of strange errors like that.
It could also be a problem server side. Is the server running any mods or anything from regular Battlefield?

Re: Server disconnect
Updated punkbuster and nothing was fixed. Sometimes I can play all day, some days it won't let play at all. Last night I tried 10 different servers and all 10 disconnected me before I got the chance to play. The day before I played all day on 5 different servers. WTF???Comment

Is your connection or PC wireless?

Re: Server disconnect
connection is wired, but through a router. router is wired to modem and computer is wired to router. All other games work fine with hot problems.Comment

Re: Server disconnect
I dont know Grudge. If you have no problems, ever, with any other game, then I would say it is some strange issue with BF2, but I dont know what it is or could be. The only thing I have found that comes close to your problem has been issues with NICs, routers, and ISPs.
You might check the firmware on your routers and drivers on your NIC. Maybe Battlefield is doing something to cause a packet dump, but I dont know.

Re: Server disconnect
I think the router has to be the only issue. I'll try hooking the computer directly up to the modem and see if that works.
Thanks for all your help and advice crunch. Nice to have an expert that listens and advises.
