  • Koenig=Pilum..?

I know they are the same things, but why the name differences?

    Re: Koenig=Pilum..?

?? What's a Koenig? played the game for umpteen years and never heard one.

Is a language translation. Maybe Pillum doesn't translate to another language as we would know it lol.

Koenig was the Pilum's original name but was changed after beta.

              Re: Koenig=Pilum..?

Pilum is a more fitting name, both for the shape of the weapon and its use. Pilum were the javelins used by the Romans, which were long spears that could pierce through armor. Koenig just means King.

                Re: Koenig=Pilum..?

Koenig is also the manufacturer of [somewhere in europe] sportscars - maybe that's the reason?

edit: actually i may be off a bit :S

                  Re: Koenig=Pilum..?

Maybe they changed it to show more of the EU's cultural diversity. There are already many german names for their vehicles (Riesig, Tiger, Bandit), so they replaced "Koenig". Who knows.

Well, there is a company named Koenig that tunes sportscars, but their work looks pretty cheesy from what I've seen. There is also a company in the US named Koenig that makes some pretty decent wheels for cars. Don't know if the two are connected in any way.

I heard that they changed it to prevent people calling each other koeniggers.
