I've recently reinstalled BF2 and BF2142 on a new computer. Well, not exactly new; my dads unwanted one. The specs are pretty poor but should be more than acceptable to run BF2/2142.
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
IGB Ram
256 AGP Radeon 9950
I can start both games up without any problems save for red screens when the opening videos should be playing. This doesn't bother me so much. The problem is when I start up a game, single player or multiplayer, it seems to load just fine, but when I click on 'join game' after the loading's complete the screen goes completely black. I can still hear sounds, but there's no pointer or anything.
I should mention that I've updated my graphics card's drivers and patched both games up to the current version. I'm at a loss to what it could be. Anybody had similar problems that they've hopefully found a solution to?
