for me it ran like crap at what was acceptable resolution and graphical settings to me. when i turned down the settings to run it at decent fps, it was really ugly and i couldn't play the game like that. it looked like a 5 yr old game at that point.

Crysis was fun alone just for the physics and AI. Awesome graphics were extra.

It runs perfectly fine on my PC (check the specs on the side). You must have a really archaic PC, Pentium 4, perhaps?

The graphics and physics were extremely impressive, but it had no real storyline. It felt more like a demonstration of the engine's prowess rather than a full video game.

nah, a q6600/8800gt/3gb ram. ran too slow at what was visually acceptable to me. sure i could lower the settings and run it at decent speed but yuck.

...if they are going to make it look that much like MW2, but with vehicles I hope they at least add a 'Hard Core' mode. Then again I can just wait for a reality mod. Looking good.

I wasn't too impressed by the destruction systen in BF-BC2, because it seems only buildings and terrain can be damaged. No bridges, containers, or walls.

I usually punch the jeep into the building... cool voice/ Maximum strength!

It's not actually destroyed though, it's just taken apart. In BF-BC2 the things you can destroy actually have rubble, not Crysis. Like I said, it's just tin sheets.

This is a fundamentally flawed and inaccurate comparison.

Tell me, proper random physics vs scripted destruction. Which is more impressive? From a technical standpoint, naturally true physics. Its like comparing COD4/MW2 scripted battles to Crysis ones. At first glance, scripted battles might look cool, but the second you see through the obvious scripted events, the game immediately becomes a chore.

                ^^^ that

one of the reasons I have grown to hate the latest CoD games is because a lot of the time it has become to obvious, I play Crysis and it can surprise me, I don't see a scripted battle but something that occurs because of the circumstances at the time, often that I created

and the Crysis Physics engine particularly is so much better than the BC2 one, but will require more powerful hardware, each piece of the building will fly out in a non pre determined manner

BC2 buildings are destructible but that destruction essentially comes from a scripted nature, each building has different faces if you will (like the faces of a shape) and each face will produce a rubble effect when destroyed.

But still it works well for the game imo.

Now a battlefield game with Crysis level physics...

my lawd that would be dribble worthy

a jeep getting hit by a heli missile, barrel rolls into a building, destroying it utterly and sending rubble flying that can hurt players and... .... brain overload
