And I've seen a red barrel and a frag grenade also get that icon.

It's any form of explosive death that isn't a Frag, Semtex, Flash/Stun, C4, Claymore, Explosive Barrel (actually has it's own symbol) etc. So things like the big tankers on Highrise, Bomb explosions, a Nuke, Small gas cylinders etc.

I knew that. Was just checking since he said it shared the same icon as exploding level objects.
