    Re: Ranking system

Anything from 3.000 - 9.000 , maybe a bit more once people become more skilled at it.

After 6 months playing the game , 10.000 - 15.000 should be pretty easy to get per round

yeh the awards add on quite a bit as well

but if you say got 9k in a round as assault I don't think it adds +9k to say your assault score (for unlocking an assault gun)

It should be real slow like in Battlefield 2, that makes the game have more replay value after you get really familiar with it. BF2142 system was too fast, you could get to the last rank in under a month took out the meaning of being a general.

              1. Not everyone plays 24/7
              2. It takes away from replay value. Most people just get bored and give up.

I mean... You can get all the awards in the game to keep you occupied and they offer a challenge... Rank does not. It's just a big penis for people that play 24/7. Not many people care about their rank in BF2, it's all about setting yourself a challenge to get award X.

Did you guys play 2142 for 6 hours everyday for a month or so? Because it took several months for me to reach brig gen. :p

not 6, but maybe close to it lol.

but a lot of awards/achievements speed it up. and remember back then they had the recruit bug glitch that allowed you to get the same award multiple times.

FWIW, i'm only a staff sargent in BF2. (i don't really play it though)

Yeah sorry 1 month was over estimated I did it in under 3 weeks. I usually got 100+ points each round and a KDR of 2.0 or better.

Why do you think more people play BF2 then BF2142, it had a better ranking system.

Ranks = They give you a long term goal if that goal is easy to achieve then why bother? If you got bored of the game it's not because of the ranks it's because the gameplay is not interesting to you, in the first place.

Your average gamer plays 4 hours a day anyway, achieving brig general in 2 months is not impossible for the casual gamer.

I don't think Bf2 has more players than 2142 because of the ranking system it was rather the setting and the bad propaganda (Battlefield 2.142)

2142 had bad press... Also it's sci-fi. Modern Warfare almost always sells better than sci-fi.

BF2 also had BFV as its father. But what ever :P we are going to have to agree to disagree.

BF 2142 is good game, the ranking system is better, unlocks and kits are better too. Though I prefer BF2 because of the modern day setting.

I admit, BF2 is way too hardcore but it should be between BF2 and BF2142.

You should be able to get all weapons ~ as fast as in BF2142, but add some "hard to reach" ranks on top of that (like in BF2) to have a) a long time motivation and b) make a difference between people that just reached all weapons and people really having many points.

In BC1, you cannot see if the guy just got the highest rank or if he is a regular player. I miss the visual difference given in BF2. Its kinda disappointing if you have the same rank after 2 years of playing like a guy that just plays active for 1 month. So please reward regular players.

                              I agree with this ...

Have weapons be obtainable relatively quickly (1-2 months)
Have majority of ranks be closer together to rank up, but higher Officer ranks should be more of a challenge.

In between 2142 and BF2 in my opinion.

you should be able to unlock some guns from casual play, e.g. in a shorter amount of time, like the first few ranks in BF2 (after the stat system change) or 2142 but there should also be some equipment etc that require real dedication, perhaps class based etc
