You will be glad to know that all of the maps fit with the Battlefield 2142 theme.

To answer some other questions:

* Server stability fix is in BF2142 v1.51 so should see a stop to the crashing servers exploit
* There is no release date yet because as I mentioned earlier, I'm waiting for the programmer from BFBC2. So until he is back on BF2142 I can't estimate how long he will take to finish the update. There has been closed beta testing of the update with Combat Studios which is why we know of the major loading bug we have to deal with.
* Operation Blue Pearl is Assault Lines
* There are currently no extra Titan maps included.
* Mac will get this update as quick as it can be converted from PC to Mac. This process isn't done by DICE so we will leave 1.50 servers running for Mac players until 1.51 comes out for the Mac. Then all 1.50 ranked servers will be shut down.
* crysis40 there are fixes, mainly around stability and account security. As previously mentioned 1.50 was the main BF2142 update. 1.51 is a minor increment update to fix the security issues. We just threw in 3 maps for you. Not too bad for an incremental update really.

Just realised my BF2142 CD is 8000 miles away.

Fail.

If you're worried about that because you simply need the disk in the drive to play, then stop worrying now ...the update will do away with the need for the disk to be present (really!).

Obviously that won't help if you're saying you need to reinstall though. Not sure what position you're in.

yeah it sux, i would like to see more Conquest Misk, Shiathaiba, Sidi, Verdun and Highway tampa!

THE MAP INDEED HAS A GOLIATH (although no flag can be capped by sitting in the Goliath)...A FEW MECS, AND A SPEEDER OR TWO. IT IS 64, 32, 16 ASSAULT LINES. I cannot reveal name at this time. (and no, I did not do Leipzig...all time favorites there).

As far as Titan maps, we did have one in the works, but most likely wont make the build, as it was submitted a little late. However, with the release of free Northern Strike Content, most (since they don't have NS) will be getting two new titan maps from that.

I will say that everyone should have the CORRECT build for 1.5, with northern strike included. This will make the install go much smoother...ya'all can get a head start on that now. Making a full patch for this would be difficult, as the current 1.51 build is around 1.1 gigs, which means a full patch would entail a couple gigs at least...way too big of a download.

Despite all of what you have heard, you are still in for some great surprises. I'm sure there will be some good/bad comments...Just remember this...

Did any of you guys notice in the first quote, he mentions the online retailers selling the 2142 Deluxe Edition and BF2 Complete Collection? If thats what I think it is, that is a bastardly move for EA. One the upside, BF Pace is what causes 98% of my crashes, if removing it solves that I will eat my socks...

its an excuse to sell these games at more expensive price than vanilla BF2/BF2142 because frankly that's all you need since the booster packs have become free as of the latest patches.

I'm mildly optimistic that it will. The last BF2 patch certainly enlivened things, particularly with the free booster packs (at least on servers near me), and given that we're getting six new maps for BF2142 (three for me as I have Northern Strike already) it's bound to arouse players' curiosity, if only for the novelty factor.

Also, I'm still wondering what Jason Brice means when he says, "...you are still in for some great surprises." I hope they're good!

What do you mean by spark some interest. Whenever I go in-game there are always hundreds of players on. I would like to see the occasional Minsk or Sidi conquest map but it's not as if it's hard to find a game.

Hi Jac!

Just realised, that sounds funny - like "hijack".:laugh:

You have to remember that it depends on where you live. I don't know where you're based, but outside of Europe and North America (i.e. USA / Canada) it isn't always easy to get a game. The ping's the thing. There may be hundreds of players where you are, but it isn't the same for all of us. Sure, I can see lots of servers, but I know that if I try to get on to a server with a ping of 300+ I'm going to get kicked or have a terrible time with lag. So, yes, it is often hard to find a game for some of us.

Considering all the things they should be fixing (Console Glitching, Transport guns that don't work etc) I really don't give a shot about new maps. It's just 3 more maps for people to glitch on.
