But that is just the whole point. It is a game, so it should have rules and be balanced to make it fun for the maximum number of players.
Speed-knifes, double-1887ers and to some degree noobtubers are making it hard for everybody else to have an enjoyable experience.

IW needs a vision with this game. Do they want a somewhat realistic looking shooter where people use at least a tiny bit of tactic? Or do they want a gigantic highspeed free-for all deathmatch where people zoom around and one-shot kill each other?
IT has to be one or the other, because they do not mix well. You can have most of the team playing soccer, and then a couple of guys playing rugby.

But it is hard to say what IW really want, if they have given it any thought.
On one hand we have a very relastic looking environment with weapons that for the most part feels relastic. And the ads usually make it seem like a tactical shooter.
On the other hand we have maps without any chokepoints, a narrow FOV that means that you cant see whats happening right next to you and perks that encourages you to run around the whole time. All that screams "run around randomly and shoot people in the back"

The latter one takes more skill lol.

It takes more zoom-around-and-one-shot-kill-each-other skill, but there are other types of skill for other games. You wouldnt get far with those speed-knifing skills in ArmaII.
I know this game isnt Arma, but then WTH is it? Modern Confusion? They should make up their minds and then balance all aspects of the game around that concept. But pigs will fly before that happens

Are you saying that zooming around a map one shotting everything and surviving doesnt take tactical skills?

To me that sounds like pure twitch-based gameplay. And I also question the skill it takes in MW2, it seems mostly focused on abusing flaws in the game. e.g. have you seen any akimbo 1887´s since the nerf?
If you want to show skill, then do the same with the FAL

It appears as though IW has chosen the latter. No doubt to the general public it would appear to be the most exciting, as the thought of dual-wielding shotguns and using tactical knives sounds pretty cool.

I have actually seen quite a few akimbo 1887's since I started playing Vreki, after hearing that they were supposedly nerf'd, and they PISS ME OFF.

Now, dont get me wrong, im a firm believer in if its there, use it, and while I appose the calling of GL's noobtubes, I have done it myself on the occasion. Now and again, weapons do annoy you, dont they?

If I use them then I am no longer playing the kind of game I was looking forward to. The same goes if more than a couple of other players are using it in a round. So in both cases I would lose, since the game would be ruined for me.
For that kind of gameplay i Have TF2, but the important difference is that in TF2 every weapon is balanced around that type of gameplay.

In MW2 only speed-knifers, noobtubers and those with akimbo 1887s would be able to enjoy the game.
Some may like it that way, but I certainly don't

no i think you got me wrong, i was just pointing out a fact thats open to people. I mean i dont like the fact that 1887's are so strong, but at the same time i know that i can use them also, therefore i feel a little more comfort.

all in all, im just playing this game until Bad Company 2 comes out, then MW2 will probably hit the dusty shelves for some time. Anyone with me?

The fact that they were open to everyone does aleviate the fact that they were overpowered. Imbalance is often something dug deep in a game, nerfing the models was a start but if they actually wanted the game to be balanced they would practically need to remake the game.

Lets face is, CoD has gone from an esteemed FPS PC based game, to a kiddies console arcade game. And that's how it was made.

no... people who have unlocked it can use them unless you pick them up, unlike me

I agree, You do notice it more and I think it has to be due to the absence of punkbuster. I have only seen 3 1887's since they were nerfed. It is a welcome relief as they were really a pain, a amazing gun to use but a pain to be killed by.
I have tried using the fal and it is a very interesting gun to use and I like its qwerkyness.
Yesterday I was playing on wasteland and managed to get a K/D ratio of 31-2 , by using kill streaks (of course) but to get them I used my M9 purely, now that is skill.

I have high hopes for BC2, but I am not going to proclaim its greatness before I have actually played it. I have seen far to many hyped games fail.
But I dont expect MW2 to last me past the release date of BC2 either, I am just not sure what will replace it. Time will tell.
