Im sure they will use pay2play with future CoD games but not with MW2.

I'm surprised they didn't charge monthly for IWnet. After all, IWnet = xbox live and you need to pay for xbox live.

If they do impose a cost for playing you can probably expect more interaction with the Dev's as it will be profitable for them to keep releasing new content. Although I dont want to fall into that trap of subscription games again and will be keeping clear if they do add it.

I wouldnt mind a subscription-based FPS, but they would need to provide something above what you get from ordinary games.

An example could be the old planetside game.

They might charge for later games, but they wouldn't I would think for MW2. It would be too much hassle.

I doubt it would be legal, since they have already sold the game with free online multiplayer.
All the subscribtion based games I have seen comes with a warning on the box.

Yea, I had thought I read somewhere else that they were planning to release a MMO type of CoD, in which they would charge p2p, but not for previous games. So I think we're safe with MW2..
