****, if he spent 60 USD on a pirated game he deserves it...
PORTED not PIRATED. He means that the PC version of the game is just a "port" (i.e. a copy) of the xbox version, rather than a game made for the PC, which is very different in terms of gaming, to say the least.
My honest opinion of the game is that it's pretty good. I was gifted the game that I would NOT pay sticker price for. The SP was good but I finished it in under 6 hours. The guy who gifted it to me bought it primarily for the SP mode, so do the math. I am also not much of a fan of deathmatch style games, I find the objective based more appealing such as CTF and Demolition. The dedicated server bit I fear is just the begining of the end to the point you pay $60 for a game and then pay a fee each month to play online on top of the outrageous ISP bills. I hope that the game is updated to fix it's many flaws, but the trend these days seems to be here you go and here is what we have for sale next, take it or leave it. Let's hope these are just the ramblings of a disgruntled cheapskate.
I blame World of Warcraft for this. I won't pay a subscription fee for a game, but 8 trillion other gamer's will.
I'm ashamed of myself though, I broke down and bought left 4 dead 2 last night....shame on me.
Thing is with WOW, every 3 months or so, they add new dungeons and other content, and without the monthly payment, they wouldnt be able to keep the hundreds of servers up, and stable.
TBH, i can see codMW2 going the same way as OFP DR, after a couple of months, only a few games will be found due to everyone going back to cod4 or the battlefield franchise.

oh give it time, i'm sure call of duty and your other popular shooter series will jump on this bandwagon, $12 to play per month and a $50 expansion every year or so....problem is WoW has shown the gaming industry that most players will pay a subscription fee. There are a few companies that still release free content on occasion but the trend seems to be changing to charge for this content.
I know game's cost money...i'm just an older gamer and probably spoiled at the fact that many a years ago we didn't have to spend 10 bucks a month to keep up to date with your favorite game.
Actually you don't, they're dropping dedicated servers too (or so rumour has it).:dead:
After DICE flat out saying that they would have dedicated servers for PC and both 360 and ps3, I find this rather hard to believe. But I guess IW did it, so why can't DICE?
