Yeah. I am a bit surprised with Microsoft shutting down so many accounts for other games. I would figure we will see something from Microsoft about it.

Of course, some people claim to have legitimately purchased it from stores stocking it early. If that is true, that wouldnt be good.

In any event, its a mess.

Yeah, I don't think IW is aware of how easy it is for people to pirate console games. What makes it easier for them is there is no activation or phone home if the person doesn't have their xbox on, or playing on another network besides xbox live.

As technology improves so does how easy it is to pirate games, especially console.

EDIT: Some of the best games were never released for the Dreamcast when it was killed off in the US. I had a friends who modded his, but instead of buying the games from Japan he downloaded them. It was the first time that I had seen console games pirated over the internet for such a complex system, not some couple KB/MB cartridge game.

It's incredably easy for the pirates to pirate console games, much easier the the PC as with a console the tendancy to keep it online is not very high, and modchips will automatically disable if set to when connecting to XBL or the PSN. Some devices are external and require no modification on the console at all.

I played many Japanese import games, back in the PlayStation days, order an external device, go to amazon and order your favorite import game that you want. The external device allowed you to play all games, even those that were currently unplayable when playing the game regularly, watch game videos, listen to the in game audio tracks, load saves, backup your saves and act as an overkill gameshark. The best thing about it was it allowed you to play your damaged disk from CD-Rs after you have repaired them, nothing like having a Tekken 3 Tournament and it starts to skip up on you or freeze the console up, pop in your retail disc into your PC repair it to a CD-R pop it in and play without the freezing or making the dreaded cd read failure noises. Then for your import games it removes the territory restrictions so you can play all the oldschool Dragonball, Street Fighter, etc. games without the dreaded cannot play this disc screen.
