Been stranded in the Gulf of Oman for 2 weeks now

As the title implies, I'm playing the demo and would like to move one.
I am curious to what I can expect from the full version. For example, the hitboxes of the choppers are a major pain in the *** which is my biggest concern. The whole body is basically unhittable except the tail, front and bottom as far as I know.
Another issue is the bunny hopping, the most retarded crap I've ever seen.

Has this changed and is there anything else I need to know?
I'm asking because it will probably take a week until I get the game.

Yes, the last patch made the game a lot better IMO, and it's changed a ton since 1.0 obviously haha.

      I can imagine that.
      Though, is the body hittable?

You'll always get bunnyhopping though. One of those things you can't avoid really.

Is the bunny hopping as bad as in the demo?
Also, are there any leagues left? Google came up with ESL but apprently it's infantry only.

I don't notice it too much, but there is some. There isn't much dolphin diving any more as there is a delay prone and a deviation, so most people crouch to shoot now.

Considering the fact that you believe BF2 Demos infantry combat to be terrible, then the retail game will be a major improvement to you. However, I cannot share your opinion either way. "Bunnyhopping" and all the "out of the box" tactics is what separates new players from seasoned veterans in the Demo. Chucking C4 frisbees, actually being able to kill people with the grenade launcher, things like these along with freedom of motion in BF2 Demo is what separates it from the retail game and makes it a lot more fun for me. In essence, the retail version has been "noobified".

Youll love helos hitboxes because they are almost spot on to what you see. Jet dogfights dynamics are completely different now but infantry combats hitbox issues still persist. Lots of yellow puffs but no kills.

I see where you are coming from and I'd agree with you if it wouldn't kill the realism. Certainly, BF2 wasn't meant to be 100 percent accurate but as far as I am concerned bunny hopping takes it too far.
To each his own I guess.

                Delicious.
What changes did they make to jets?

They're exactly the same for me as in 1.41. Lagging miles behind. I play on 50 ping servers.

They're perfect for me on patch 1.50, even if I play on a server with 140 ping.

Realism kills the fun in the gameplay. Realism in games limits skill. Realism in games does not create immersion. Too many people oppose aspects of games they cant perform themselves, bringing realism arguments to defend their case. If everyone bunnyhops, you either adapt and join the party, or find a flaw in what they do and exploit it.

No more 15 minute dogfights. Missiles now turn better than jets, which was not the case in the Demo.

Yea, i'm not a fan of realism. People think it would add to a game like BF2, but when it's all based around arcade, it wouldn't attract to so many people.

How does realism limit skill? It may or may not expand boundaries. It may or may not increases the difficulty.
Just because it isn't realistic doesn't mean there aren't any boundaries, they just differ.
Bunny hopping is absurd. As absurd as flying around with a tank. Yes, It would bring another element to the game but I wouldn't call it an enhancement.

There are lots of absurd things in Battlefield. But, that is the way it is.

I take it that you havent played any Quake games, then? Download Quake Live and give it a shot. Using words like "absurd" to describe a videogame which wasnt supposed to be realistic in the first place, is absurd. But anyway, try Quake Live, play it for 30 minutes, if you cant feel your exhausted hands after 3 rounds, then youll remember what I said about skill.

Realistic gameplay is slow, it doesnt require speed, precision and thinking on a whole new level.
