Monitor Out of Range, already tried help from sticky...

Hey guys, been a while since I played some BF2 and want to get back into the game!

    I currently run a widescreen monitor at 1360x768 @ 60hz.
While adjusting my video options in game I accidentally set the refresh rate @ 140 hz, so I get the "monitor out of range" error.

I adjusted the resolution in the video.con file, as suggested in the sticky topic in this forum. The game boots fine with this, and I am able to see the game UNTIL I LOG IN. After I login, the screen goes black. I guess this is because my profile has the improper resolution applied to it.

How do I set the resolution for my profile from a bad refresh rate to something that works that I can apply to the game?

    Please help! :dead:

I don't know... you could always reinstall and be more careful next time :)

There is a video.con file in every profile folder (0001 etc) as well as default.
Set to 800x600@60Hz and then change it ingame.

This is what I had noticed too, and you are correct. The video.com file in my profile folder was different than the default video.com file. I discovered that once you login, the video settings are no longer read from the default folder, but the profile folder for the name that was logged in. Thank you, im back in the game!
