Re: drag shooting?

Drag shooting is shooting while sweeping your scope over a target in a single motion. The best way to understand it it to watch a video like this.

As for the difference between the M24 and L96, the only practical difference is the scope, which is thinner on the L96.

If I understand this right, it's basically shooting without stopping the mouse over your target?

L96 has a reload time that's one second shorter. http://www.stupidjuice.net/bf2/bf2_c...&showall=false

It does look like something that would take a lot of time to master and much more likely to hit in other game engines :p

Can be done in BF2. Ive practiced this a lot on COD4 and I did get somewhat OK with it (it really does elevate ones sniping skills and potential), and I never really sniped in BF2. So when I recently started playing again and came in with sniping skills from COD4 (dragshots and snapshots in particular) it was like a whole new game.

That video in the first post is not good enough for training. Use these methods instead-

However, Sarciss has highlighted one very important part of being able to dragshoot- your hand-eye coordination has to be on a level where youre able to put your crosshairs on or close to the target in one motion (youre not correcting the crosshairs).

            Re: drag shooting?

It's an essential skill in other shooters (especially Quake/UT styled games) but it can be very useful to master in BF2 as well... basically it's about being able to "snap" to whatever target you need to shoot at very quickly. It's about getting used to your sensitivity and getting "muscle memory" on how far to move your mouse to shoot, so you barely need to look.

Definitely beating a dead horse here, but going into a CS DM and "snap shooting" for an hour or two will get you good at it.

                  Dragshooting and snapshooting?

Immeasurable confidence increase while playing sniper in both close and mid-range engagements. The muscle-memory will do more work than the eyes will. It will boost your KDR skyhigh. Quite simply, it will make you a better player all-around.

The nice thing with this is that you can develop these sets of skills with simple excercises.

but basically its the motion of aiming into an area where there is no enemy, you see an enemy and you have the ability to basically flick to the target instantly; its one of the reasons why a lot of FPS players demand a perfect mouse, if you have acceleration then drag shooting is poop

in CSS with an awp for example you might aim into an area where you know an enemy is going to emerge but not specifically, when he does appear you drag the crosshair onto him at great speed and boom

needs practice, hand eye co-ordination etc but is something that's needed for most guns tbh

you'll never do because bf2 mouse input literally sucks arse. To get consistent aim you either have to be moving forwards or going backwards.

Isn't that how most people play sniper anyway? This appears different and rather unnecesary imo.

sort of, but drag shooting is more of a reflex action

you get those snipers who can only shoot people when they have several years to follow him with their crosshairs and other snipers who can reflex shoot you and receive the "omgwtfhax" accusations

                              No.

This skill is extremely useful in BF2. I´d say its more beneficial than in other (close quarters) FPS games like CS or COD because the other weapons are so inaccurate and your aim wont be screwed up by incoming fire. People who use dragshooting in BF2 usually end up on the top of the scoreboard and at the front of the attack forces.

Most people play like this? You mean, most people slowly drag their crosshairs above the enemy, over- or undercorrect their aim and usually still miss.

This is a really good demonstration video of how dragshots work-

Of course the better you get, the faster the motion, like here-

Its muscle memory and reflexes vs aiming. One is just that much faster and that much more efficient.
