Re: New Dice interview and footage
looks pretty bad a-ss. i like how destroying even an unoccupied vehicle nets you points. looks like AT class will be better rewarded.
one thing i wonder is whether destructed environment regenerates, because what if some tard in a tank goes and blows up most of the cover in the map early in the round and there's no cover for infantry the rest of the round?
ps. i hope those ammo packs don't resupply nades... could BC2 be the game that ends the tradition of nade spam in bf?

That video is amazing! The graphics look amazing! This video made me fall in love with the game even more. About the ammo thing. I doubt that you can spam nades or grenade launchers. I'm sure DICE did something about it.

Don't worry - we have thought about that. Some of the damaged objects still provide cover out of rubble or the ramaining, more robust, materials like steel and iron or even big rocks. We don't want the destruction to reduce playability, but add to it.
Creating a hole in the ground with a tank shell can even provide more cover for your team. You get to plan strategic destruction as you play. This way, the level plays differently each round in more ways than before. You can, for example, use the rubble of a demolished house to take cover where you, in the last round had a firing position in the window or on the roof etc. etc.

The game is looking great. You can see the difference in the graphics from the first one to the second one. The damage is looking very impressive as well. Can't wait for the game to come out. I wonder if there will be a public beta test beforehand?

They keep on saying vehicles are so important and they're focusing on them, but they refuse to add cool things like tail rotor failure (with skill you could land them and get them back on action) on choppers?
Now you shoot the tail rotor, and it will just explode.

Awesome!
Still kind of worried about the killcam though, from some older video it looked like it actually followed the enemy around after you were killed which kind of ruins stealth if it stays. And hopefully there won't be too many radars and scanners in the game, it went totally overboard in 2142.
