    Prototype

So Prototype has been out since June, but other than the few blurbs about it, I hear nothing. Anyone here own it or tried it out? Is it any good? It doesn't have a very high score on Steam, which makes me wonder about it. There does not appear to be any demo for it.

    Any good?

Didnt someone here make a review on it?

Thanks Manzi, I knew I read that review but couldn't find it.

Also, where can I find the review area? Is there a path somewhere on the site where I can rummage through all the reviews? If there is, Im just missing it.

go to the frontpage and on the right side it has Reviews, and below that previews.

Not all are listed but only the most recent.

          Re: Prototype

I wrote this review a while back - http://megabits-of-gaming.blogspot.c...prototype.html - I played it on the 360 but think it's much the same across formats. Thought it was a pretty decent sandbox game that looked pretty good and had a few nice ideas.

Story itself is the cliche. It's a revenge story.

                    Wake up.

Oh is that what people find cliched, well I do see it there but tbh, with a game like that, what else can they do? They put so much in level design and gameplay mechanics that they hindered the writing department.

Which kind of ruins it. But tbh, the gameplay more than compromises for it. It's pure genius how the incorporated fighting, stealth, weapon combat, vehicular combat and world exploration without messing up the game.

                          Re: Prototype

Level design was weak. While the world is HUGE, the levels lack details and most statics and textures are used over and over and over again. Only a select few areas really stick out but even then it just lacks a good amount of detail. Not a whole lot to the levels to be honest. If you want to see well designed levels for a single player game go try Batman Arkam or Fallout 3.

It is a fun brutal game to just smash around in but for me it got old after just a few hours. If you really enjoy it than more power to you.

The game is really unique but the graphics seem to be lacking a lot, and levels are really bland. Rent it
