no change, except fallujah lags more. Weapons still don't make sense with incredible inaccuracy.

No changes where made to Fallujah so its most likley you have a bunch more programs running in the background or something which are causing you to lag. Either try closing thous programs down or lower your gfx settings.

As for "Weapons still dont make sence with incredible inaccuracy", this might help you:

I still think the size of the cone should be decreased 15% on all stances, and the time for the cone to close up should be 30-50% faster. Would not make you so frustrated in close call situations when putting half a clip of perfectly placed shots on enemy 30 meters away from you, and he just turns and puts one lucky shot on you.

If we could we would implement realistic weapon sway on all weapons but since that is not possible with the BF2 engine, deviation is the closest thing we have to represent real life aiming and we have got it working pretty well we feel regarding how long it takes a solider to aim a rifle in r/l. Once you get use to it you start thinking like you would in real life about changing your potions and is it worth it since that would require moving and that would mean you would need to realign your weapon on a target.

not sure, you could try installing .86 again if you still have the installer then install .874 but not sure if that will work. Might have to download the .874 full installer.

Why not similar system to the one in FH2? Where the sights move, and you have to fire the weapon at the correct position to get an accurate shot. This way you would have some control over your weapon, instead of trying to guess when it gives you an accurate shot.... also would make close quarters better, since you're not really going to miss half a clip on a guy that is 5 meters in front of you....

you mean the "sway animation" that happens when you stand up with the sniper rifle?

I'm very sorry to tell you but that isn't proper weapon sway (like BF2142 has). Its just a animation, the bullets still come out of the centre of the screen I'm sorry to say. We tried to do this ages ago ourselves but we found that from a visual aspect the player could see the weapon wasn't on sight, the huge downside was you never knew where the weapon was aiming since you never knew when the scope was actually on the target which is much worse than deviation we found.

If we could get realistic weapon sway in BF2, where your bullets fire where your scope is pointing and your scope moves around the place like in BF2142 (and many other games :p) and you could control how much the weapon sways depending on the weapon, the players stance, if the player had been running just before and w/e else the player had been doing prior to shooting etc then we would drop our current deviation system for it in a flash.

The sway animation in FH2 goes in a "^" shape, so even if your standing and the sights sway around the screen, you can get accurate shots if you concenctrate enough on aiming, and in my opinion that's how it should be instead of an invisible cone, where you can't have any consistency on your shots.

                        Re: Project Reality v0.87 Released!

the huge problem with an animation is that it can only be a continuous cycle iirc, where what we want and what we get with deviation is a settle down period after an action which there is no way to trigger that with an animation.

I'm pretty sure that if we could have initial sway with the scope witch then gradually went down to a stop after a few secs we would already have that.

I know our animators and coders did experiment with animations with scope sway etc some time ago but couldn't get anything good out of it that met our needs. You would need to ask them if you want the full details.

Or if you put a dot on your screen.

Not a good idea with flat monitors.
