Gotland just joined the stupid admin list...

Dumb *** admin kept spawning in on sl who had grabbed a tank at this point, only didnt leave gunner seat so no one else could spawn. messes up the teams capture of a key flag. Every time sl drove some where decent, boof mg seat locked out.

Then I get so annoyed by this point I hog the seat so he cant respawn on it him self. boom kick for high ping when i had 70 stable through out the round.

Yeh I suppose tanking sl isnt great but we had won 5 consecutive best squads so might as well stick it out.

Way too many admins interfering with gameplay on ranked servers in my opinion.. I see it on most that have a playing admin. Hogging vehicles, kicking players for vehicles, sabotaging people, hasseling players who are good. All kinds of bogus stuff.

Ranked servers should be free from that, unfortunately many are not.

Way too many admins interfering with gameplay on ranked servers in my opinion.. I see it on most that have a playing admin. Hogging vehicles, kicking players for vehicles, sabotaging people, hasseling players who are good. All kinds of bogus stuff.

Ranked servers should be free from that, unfortunately many are not.

Yeah....I have played on (and been banned from) some terrible servers and also some generally quite good ones.

ATF Clan....Kicked in order to get into jets themselves

Bamboo/Panda Nation....Admin Baseraped sometimes when they felt like it, kicked you for shooting them down in jet if they were even slightly over the airspace of thier own UCB base.

PORNOSTARS....despite being a regular, was banned from both forum and server for correctfully stating that an esteemed clan member was behaving like a **** (which he was) on the server.

As silly as it sounds, all these little examples are clear demonstrations why a healthy society is a society where no individual has too much power. Power (no matter how petty) tends to corrupt and spawn individuals who are used to getting away with acting like knobs to the point where they think it is reasonable behaviour.

hahaha i have been banned so many time on TV2 servers . You cant even say idiot on it and you gonna be kicked right away :P. Love to go to ther website and see screnshots of myself.

I'm am taken back by your comments and perfectly agree with you. An admin is only there to enforce fair gameplay, kick/ban cheaters and hackers, and a few other minor things. The less the admin is involved, the better. I am the Owner/Founder/Admin of a BF2 server and will not behave in the manner that was described above by MatTheCat. I love players, I respect them, I listen to them, I help them, and most of all, I'm a player too! It seems on those servers, admins have taken advantage of their server and have forgotten who the players are, who got them there in the first place. Admins are not supposed to be smacktards or jack a55es. I am very offended by these so-called "admins" on how they treated their players. In my opinion, I would never go to them again. Find a server that has an admin/owner that treats and respects their players. That will listen to their players and be what an admin/owner is supposed to be...a player him/herself.

Any comments, please feel free to make them. This is a GREAT topic to learn from. I thought I was the only one that have had issues with admins in the past, I guess I'm not.

That is sad how some admins take advantage of fine players...very sad. Which ATF clan? There are a few...is it the one with www.atfclan.com? I've played them before, they like to ram their jets into armor vehicles.

No offense GothicAngel but pumping your server over and over again is really dumb, especially with the whole "I will not do X, and Y"...

I have never really had issues with Gotland servers, good pings etc. You should never jump to conclusions when it comes to kicks/bans, people can make mistakes and I have often found that going overboard with the "OMG U KICKED ME FOR NO REASON I HATE UR SERVERS AND IM GONNA SPREAD HATE" often comes back to haunt you, especially if the people you vent at are nice guys who have made an honest mistake.

But then again there really are some servers where admins generally take the piss, I remember being kicked along with fellow clan members because apparently whenever the opposing teams clan members looked at us, they dropped to 5fps... Any excuse to kick people who are kicking your arse!

I'm not intentionally "pumping" my server, no offense taken. But saying that I will not behave this way and that way, should be a positive thing. In essence it lets you know at the least, that an admin of some server cares about gaming and gamers...but I will edit my post and remove my "pump" so that it will be more in line with these forums...

Gotland servers are very good. Like McBoobs said, you can't judge an entire set of servers for the action of one person.

Yes and No...Depends on how you see it. If the admin is being a jerk and the head admins know about it and allow it, then to me, they are just as guilty. It's not the players that are at fault, it's the administration of that server. Leadership can hinder the image of a server. Gotland has awesome players and admins, I play there ever so often and never had a problem. However, I've played on other servers where the admins were just complete jerks and the players were wonderful. But I won't play on a server anymore that has an admin that jerks you around, unless that admin just happens to not be playing at that time, then maybe. One rotten apple can eventually spoil the entire basket of apples. So, I see both sides of this conversation, but why continue to play on a server that has an admin that keeps jerking your chain for no reason? Or is there a reason that we don't know about?
