    Microphone Source Getting Changed

This "bug" got introduced with patch 1.41, and I see now it is still present in 1.5. :hmm:

I have an X-Fi soundcard, and I have my microphone plugged into the front panel. No problem with that, but the input source is "Line-In 2/Mic 2," not the default "Microphone" source, but whenever I load a map, i.e., join a server, BF2 switches the driver's setting back to "Microphone" behind my back. :shakehead:

This wasn't that big of a deal before because all I had to do was alt-tab out, switch the source back to "Line-In 2/Mic 2," and then alt-tab back into the game, but now with the AA and alt-tabbing bug, that's not a viable solution anymore because I prefer not to turn off AA.

So after all this time, has anyone found a solution to this problem (other than disabling anti-aliasing)? I'm running WinXP right now, but it happened under Vista as well if I recall correctly.

Update/Edit: I forgot to mention that simply going to the Audio page in options also resets the input source to "Microphone."

So to reiterate my above question, is there any way to tell BF2 use "Line-In 2/Mic 2" and not "Microphone?" An undocumented line I can add to the Audio.con file? A registry setting? Something?

    Re: Microphone Source Getting Changed

Old bug, there use to be a little program that you could run in the background that would change the source back to whatever you want it to stay on (along with a quick mode changer). You might wanna do a quick google search. I just ended up using a USB headset, problem solved.

In Vista and 7, each input is individually listed so you can set them as default through Control Panel>>Sound in the Recording tab. Then again in x64, the VoIP doesn't work.

Alright, I'll look around for something like that. Thanks for the suggestion.
