    Re: Hit reg

Hit reg is... excuse the expression, hit and miss.

If I'm on a low-ping server and the cone of fire isn't being a f*cking wh0re, chances are the shots will all register... but when you change either of the two aforementioned variables, things can go to Hell really fast.

Overall, it does seem improved, but I couldn't tell you how by much.

      Re: Hit reg

tbh it seems fixed for some guns, but for others (like the p90), I swear its actually got worse! Even at close range I cant hit anything with it anymore....

Luckily for the AT gun especially it actually is better, so now I'm constantly eryx sniping infantry ... even moving ones now, which was much more difficult before.

Its definately better for choppers and jets.

Hey, what do you mean "low-ping"? 10? 15? I'm playing with 50-70 ping and have to say hitreg is much better.

          Re: Hit reg

I honestly haven't even noticed a change in hit registration, still get stupid puffs of dust from people's heads, still get rockets going through vehicle areas etc. Honestly if they hadn't said anything about hit reg I wouldn't have been bothered (since you get used to it), but since they said they had improved hit reg, and I haven't noticed a difference, it makes me sad face

It's all down to the individual. I use the P90 all the time and it will often take half a clip or better to drop someone even at close range, regardless of whether I aim for the head or not (and no, I'm not proning, I'm either crouched and 'scoped' or foolishly trying to strafe and shoot). I recall a moment yesterday on Tampa where an AT guy saw me and started bunnyhopping straight at me. He got three hops off and apparently my 20+ AK-101 rounds decided to all dust off as he managed to stab me in the face. This was with me crouched and looking down the sights right at his centre mass the whole time. :yay:

And I've noticed a large amount of bunnyhopping DAO-using ATs now. The SMGs were already seldom used, but it seems like the reg, in my case at least, hasn't improved when trying to hit jumping targets in mid-air, and since shotguns don't incur (much of) an accuracy penalty while moving there's no need to stop and aim, just strafe and spam. Gives us AT guys a bad name. :p

The sights are useless on SMG's, you'll hit much better without them so don't use sights and ull pwn.

Long range seems to have been improved. I don't snipe but i single burst with spec ops and medic rife.

Close range seems to still be messed up.

You'd think, but my reg disagrees. I came up behind a couple of EU guys less than 10m away on Smoke Screen with my PP-19 and after all 45 bullets were spent I got zero kills (two kill damage assists, though, as they were killed before I had a chance to reload). It's not any better or worse with the sights up, it pretty much sucks equally either way.

I only noticed a few kills that surprised me a little compared to 1.41. Also, has anyone noticed that the hit indicator is now non-existent? or is my game just borked?

Hit indicator is still there, but if I'm lagging sometimes I notice it doesn't show up when I score a hit. But it's always been that way, so it's not a new 1.5 thing.

No they do not.I tested it with my brother. He stood completely still and i put my gun on single shot, aimed right at him,and missed 2 out of 3 times at about 50 feet.It just means that this is a game of luck, not skill.I think this game is very bad because of this and i will not play it anymore.

Yea, when I say they hit when they should, I mean when a bullet hits you it hits. In BF2 for whatever reason they made it so that every other bullet (while on automatic; depending on the gun) flies in a random direction, even single shot there is deviation...

But shots hit for me... most of the time.

Yeah, it's the single fire deviation that bothers me. In full automatic I'd expect a bullet to veer off because of recoil and a little deviation modifier.

But single bursts? Come on... I am on the ground in prone, my M16 in single fire and I miss the guy around 20 meters ahead of me?

I suck at this game, but that bad?

Sit down, I have an even better one for you:

                                - Mashtuur City
                                - Constant ping of 75
                                - MG36
                                - Enemy is a bolt action Sniper who is prone, immobile...
                                - Distance is 5 meters at the most

Roughly 3 seconds of controlled bursts yielded one hit. I then proceeded to hold the left mouse button for a good 4 seconds and not only did I not hit him at all, but he f*cking killed me taking his sweet time. And by the way, I only employed that "tactic" to prove a point... and I believe it went beautifully.

There's something seriously wrong when the hit registration varies from being either inconsistent to practically non-existent. Air vehicles it is.
