Desert Conflict on BF2 1.50 Works!

Just a note for any players of Desert Conflict and Desert Conflict Xtended, Patch 1.5 does not break the mod!

1 person had to reinstall the mod after patching but the other 3 testers were fine AS IS.

I thought DC and DCX for BF2 died a long, long time ago? I always liked it, the gameplay seemed faster and more fun when I used to play it.

Rarely are there any Australian servers running many bf2 mods so does D-C have much bot supported maps?

And has it got an Ac-130 yet? :nod:

Regarding bot support, apparently 1.5 has eliminated the AI commander so no UAV, etc. unless you command.

That's great news Master-X! DCONX has worked fine for me in 1.5.

There are some die-hard fans that have kept it going. I'm hoping the 1.5 release rejuvenates the mod communities in addition to BF2 in general. I'm hoping to have our DCON server upgraded to the 1.5 patch by this weekend.

If you haven't tried the latest version of DCONX, 0.22b, I highly recommend it! :thumbsup: Weapons are more accurate and should work even better combined with the hit box enhancements of 1.5. Plus you get to use unlocks and spawn on the squad leader too now - it's really a great mixture of the best that BF2 and Desert Combat from BF1942 both have to offer.

Indeed. It was the closest thing to a sequel for Desert Combat that I've ever played. DCONX would probably have been popular when it came out, had all the DC fans moved on from playing BF1942/DCF.

Bots are comming, AC-130 has been here since revision 0.16b, current release is 0.22b, and the release about to drop is 0.24b

We did find 1 bug in 0.22b with BF2 Patch 1.50, dont fly the battlehawk, the blackhawk with missiles, you will crash the server because its minigun ammo supply exceeds the new limit of 1000 rounds. it has 1500 total ammo, 750 per barrel with 2 barrels.
