    Vista 64bit problems

I tried Google searches and searching the forums and can't find anything to solve the problem

    Specs:
    HP Pavillion dv 9700
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    T8100 @ 2.10GHz
    3G RAM

    OS Vista 64bit

I've set the compatiblility mode to run in XP. I've done the "set as admin" thing. I've tried to delete all the folders and rename them, didn't work either

I click on the shortcut and it cuts to the black screen like normal then it cuts out, and then goes back to my desktop

My friend got my other friend's BF2 running by changing the coding somewhere. The coding was long and was deleted and changed to something very short he said. I haven't found anything on the internet to help

Anyone have any suggestions short of un/reinstalling? Thanks

More specs would be good like, it's a laptop with 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics.
Check the refresh rate of the monitor is running at 60Hz, right click on your desktop, select personalize, display settings, advanced, monitor.

Try deleting to remove the "Battlefield 2" in your Documents folder.

      Fixed?

it looks like ur on a laptop...so there a good chance ur video card would not support BF2 especially if its a intel mobo. try updating ur video drivers cuz i think intel's video cards are able to run bf2 (still slowly) with new drivers

I'm having the same issue as him. I go to join game sometimes it goes black back to desktop. Other times in the game for a few minutes and then it does it.

          asus g50vt-x5
          nvidia 9800m gs 512
          4gb ram
          vista 64 bit

I tried disabled desktop composition, didn't work. I deleted the cache folder, didn't work. I'm gonna try and delete the folder in my documents and see if that helps or not.
