It's going to be better than any Battlefield game, at least (that's ignoring mods.)

COD has the best Infantry Combat ive ever seen in a game. 10x better then any BF game so far. Everything about it feels realistic and natural and smooth, not clunky and slow-mo like many other games. And the weapons are realistically powerful and accurate! (Not shooting paintballs and impossible to hit anything with like many other games, including BF games which are some of the worst in this area)

If only the next BF game took some of this from the COD series, it would have it all! Anyway i'll be buying COD:MW2 also!

I agree that it's 10x better than any BF game, but I think you're going a little too far. It's not "realistically powerful" and it's certainly not the best infantry combat. It's definitely a very fun game, but not because of it's realism. It has NO realism. It's fun because it's a wacky arcade shooter. You want realism, play Project Reality. That game is amazing.

Re: BF1943 delayed until next year.

COD a game where you hold fire at people for kills...

COD4 especially is even more arcade than Battlefield, getting past the fact its stupidly easy it has all the nade spam and movement crap seen in Battlefield, the maps as well...just lol. Forgetting the stupidly inflated price, joke of an SP hmhmmmmmmmmm.

Battlefield has the added bonus of actually being good though (one day people shall see the light and rid themselves of the evil COD)

But yes this thread has derailed somewhat, allowing my seething hate of COD to come to the surface...hmmmm closure

Re: BF1943 delayed until next year.

I cant stand project reality, it has realisms i dont want thx. And lots of stuff i dont find realistic at all. Btw i said realistically powerful and accurate, not totally realistic in all ways. And they nailed player movement.

And i know because i own several assualt rifles myself. And I use them regularily. Rifles are way easier to aim and shoot than most games portray, and handguns are way harder to aim than most games portray. The complete opposite to reality. I see people sniping with pistols ingames all the time, always makes me laugh.

Few shooters have made their rifles (that includes automatic rifles) properly lethal and easy to aim. PR is no exception, they way over-did sway and recoil, just like most other shooters have always done. However imo COD nailed player movement (except for jumping) and the weapon handling. Which is near perfect imo, no clunky, clumsy, overly hard to aim weapons with a bunch of bogus delays, sway and recoil. And the netcode is awesome in COD!

You are correct about other parts of COD4 being very arcadey though. The arti and helicopters especially. And their maps layouts suck, big deatmatch merry-go-round flag chases.

But in regard to the good stuff i mentioned, I hope BF takes some of it from COD4, because imo few other shooters have as natural and smooth feeling infantry combat. Its the closest to what ive experienced IRL when handling my weapons and shooting.

PR depicts playing as a soldier with x amount of gear on his back and ammo to carry, which is not the same as shooting a gun in your back garden.
CoD is pretty much UT but better imo. Its not a realistic game, its not trying to be, the execution of the game is excellent and that is to be an arcade shooter.

Red Orchestra Is possibly the game with the best infantry combat I have ever seen.

Only problem, more often then not soldiers arent carrying all that stuff, they put it down... Maybe on beach landings they have everything on. Do i need to post links to youtube videos of IRAQ combat?? I hope not..

And RO has the worst most slow-mo clunky movement ive ever scene, not even remotely realistic. No one moves like that IRL. I hope you dont?

And again... I said it has realistically powered weapons and accuracy and player movement, NOT ITS A REALISM GAME. Man what ever happened to reading comprehension.

All I have to say is, off topic on your first post. COD:MW2 will be a great game, but that has nothing to do with this.

Back on topic, I'm disappointed with the delay, but I'll definitely be getting BF1943 because I've been looking forward to the next ww2 title in the Battlefield series.

Battlefield forum talking down on COD4 for nade spamming, it's like the pot calling the kettle black.
