This has to be the good news that KM Troedssen mentioned in his twitter post. I wonder what system they will do the beta for, PC, 360, or PS3? This same article is posted in the PC section as well, so it's anyone's guess.
I remember playing the beta for 2142 and it was awesome to get to play it and see the game evolve into the current version. Here's hoping I can play this beta as well. -

Actually, I'd be surprised if it wasn't on PC since Frostbite is a new engine for PC and I would think that putting out a beta for the PC would be one of the smarter things they could do to ensure that BC2 is developed properly for the PC. My guess is it's either going to be on the 360 or PC since hardly any companies do betas on the PS3. I have a PS3 and PC so I hope that it's at least on the PC so I can take part.Originally posted by DeesiesComment

If this is aimed at PC and Console, they will need serious help with PC more than console. You will know early if the PC is delayed if the beta starts after say 3-6 months post console (if not at the same time as should be) as is with the pathetic scenario we see now with 1943 i.e major delays & not worth bothering with.

trust me, it will come much later than console versions. this is the standard practice in the industry, especially EA so they do not cannibalize console sales. happened with mirror's edge and will happen with all EA/DICE games (ones not PC exclusive) from what i can see.
sure, doing some modification for PC is also part of it, but protecting console sales is much more of a factor than people think, simply because the game companies won't admit to it.

1943 would've been a test bed for the frostbite engine IF! they would actually release it anytime soon but seeing as that will not happen I'm pretty sure that the BC2 beta for testing PC version of Frostbite engine will be a lot smarter move on EA/DICE's part. Then just releasing 1943 and having a large possibility of F-ing up with Engine capability and losing massive sales for it. PLUS!! if they do lose a lot of sales on PC version of 1943 then who's to say they just might play the easy route and port all future games (BC2) from console to PC just to save money.
