Yeah, idling works. And it'd be hard to make a safeguard against it, all you have to do is join a server and idle. It doesn't even need to be one of the idler maps.

The only way to get them is by randomly finding them ingame.

You can select to equip them in the character setup. I don't really feel like starting TF2 to get a screenshot, so here's something I found, but now there's a misc slot below the headgear slot.

You could have gotten a metal for the soldier, but there's none left. They may have similar things for other classes.

I got a medal :awes There was this website where you could sign up and the first 11 111 would get a medal, I was so lucky to get in. They will probably add other things later, or have contests or something.

I thought BF:Heroes was more EA trying to cash in on the success of TF2.
