I would love it if they did modern warfare in like a BF2 setting, but then had a different set of maps in a Cold War NATO and US vs. Soviet Union setting. Much of the weaponry and vehicles could be shared with the standard maps.

I was thinking along the same lines. I wouldn't mind a "what if...?" type of scenario set in the 1980s (or even 70s), along the lines of "World in Conflict", but as a first person shooter, of course. I'm pretty sure that we're going to get present day or slightly futuristic, though. Not that I object to those, either.

Russia wouldn't be on the "good guys" team. Teh evol Russians.

I think a cool feature would be an "insurgents" team, with different skins and weapons for each area. For example, seperatists in Xinjiang, secularists in the League of Arab States (if we have that instead of the MEC, which I doubt), and Europeans in Russian-occupied territory (if this has a storyline to it).

The main issue is that big gaming companies like EA might like to sway from being too "political."

Yes, got that some time ago.:) Never any servers near me, though. I didn't actually mean an invasion of the US, but a seventies or eighties period NATO v Warsaw Pact style game. As I said, however, I'll take whatever we get (as long as they don't screw it up).

I was making a reference to how the team the U.S. is on is seen as the "good guys," while them commies and Muslums 'r the "bad guys."
