    BF2 Patching

Whenever I try to install 1.41 it just tells me "can't find install folder."

    :|:

I am running Win7 if that has anything to do with it.

Are you using the incremental, or the full patch?

there is no incremental for 1.41, only the full patch.

maybe try right click on patch and run as administrator?

Or you can try incremental, i.e. install from a patched version.

I was assuming you were on 1.4
But if you reinstall, download 1.12 or something (to see if other patches are recognised).

If so, install 1.12 then 1.41

If that still doesn't work you will need to reinstall because your BF2 registry might have been corrupted.

Does it let you try and find the install folder?

                    I don't think it does.

Most patching programs rely on the registry to work out the folder of installation. This was done for the 'ease' of the consumer...

No, it just tells me it can't find it.

Check the registry to see if the InstallDir is correct
                        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2
                        or for 64bit
                        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2
Might be somewhere else in Win7.

Ahah, this may be the problem. There is no InstallDir. :|:

EDIT: Hm, that seems to have fixed it. Thanks Natt. :wee:

/shivers. I hate when i have to go into the registry to fix something.

I knew it was a registry issue. Didn't know how to fix it
