Does This Fall's Lineup Still "Got It?"

This fall is looking like it's going to give some of the greats (2000, 2004, 2007) a run for their money. From Batman: Arkham Asylum to Left4Dead 2, and beyond, the release schedule is ambitious and has already taken some big hits. Bioshock 2, Max Payne 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Red Dead Redemption have all been pushed back into early next year, but will the remaining titles still have enough umphf to lead the industry into its biggest year yet?

What's everyone looking forward to? Anything you're really sad to see pushed back?

      Suprised you left out MW2?

Well, to me it looks more like "Meh warfare 2". Seems to be going a bit too gadget'y and unrealistic. I never hugely enjoyed CoD MP over a long period of time, so I don't care for it.

2007 was the best year though wasn't it? I bought so many games that year.

I suppose things are messed up because we didnt have the recession in 2007. I'd have liked to finally complete the Half Life 2 Trilogy this year but no luck.

We got COD:MW2, L4D, New GTA Content, Fifa 10 and NFS: Shift this year so things aren't so bad, it'd just be nice to have too many good games than not enough.

You play the games you really like alot for the first 1-2 months then it dies down, so you need to have not so amazing but still good games to get you through the year and this year missed that.

TBH, i'm looking for Halo ODST, MW2, The New GTA that doesn't need the original to play, and GH5.

Yeah, 07 was crazyyyy. I can't wait for DiRT 2, I just hope it's not as difficult as the last one. Other than that, I'm most looking forward to Beatles Rock Band, ODST, and the Ballad of Gay Tony. MW2 has kinda fallen into my "there are too many games coming out this year, so some will have to wait til Xmas" pile.

I'm also really excited for L4D 2 & Assassin's Creed II, but the fact that they are coming out on the same day KILLS me. Honestly, I really wish one of them would just wait a week or something, otherwise I'll end up shelving L4D 2 until I'm finished with AC2; and that'll be a bummer.

                  Blasphemy!

I forgot that they're bringing out the DLC for GTA so you dont need the original to play. That'll be interesting, and i expect pricey. :|:

I tried Batman: Arkham Asylum at Gamestop, and it really lessened my interest in the game. Combat devolved to button-mashing, with just two buttons necessary to win: punch and counter. Of course, the whole Eidos bribing reviewers thing doesn't help, either.

I'm not that impressed with this year, but I'm going to try some older games that I overlooked. Honestly, my excitement, for videogames at least, peaked when I discovered my neighbor still has their original NES. Old school gaming for the win! :awes

I never bought it, but the demo RAWKED me. lol that's actually why I didn't buy it. WRC is the best racing there is tho. end of story. I'm buying it (or maybe getting it to review ::crosses fingers::) purely based on my desire for a good racing title in my life. it's been too long.

It really is blasphemy, but I only just got MW1 last xmas. You can blame Assassin's Creed and Orange Box for me not getting it right away tho. lol. The GTA DLC should be excellent and, again, has a $20 price point. Definitely worth the price to play imo.

Yeah, Bawdyjane told me it doesn't look too appealing cause she hates stealth mechanics in games, so it took a hit there, and once I saw the
gameplay at Gamestop, it too ended up on my Xmas list. My backlog of games has reached critical mass so I'm going to enjoy skipping a few titles (and be thankful for the delays) to get back to games like Condemned 2, Dead Space, Halo Wars, and the original Sonic Trilogy.

In all honesty, Spring 10 is stacking up like no other Spring ever. Crackdown 2, Conviction, Bioshock 2, Red Dead Redemption, the list goes on....

                          Thats just it, isnt it?
You have to have at least 4 awesome games if your really into them to see you through the year.

Otherwise 1/2 get old and you get left with the mediocore for the rest of the year.
