Need two files from BF2142 EADM version

Hi,

I recently cracked my BF2142 dvd, so I can't play BF2142. I tried mounting virtual image, but Securom is clever :) and don't like it. But after registering my BF2142 copy its shown also in my EA Download manager, however its too big for me to download.

So I want to ask if somebody who has EADM version can upload me (or send to benetti32(at)gmail(dot)com) 2 files from BF2142 folder - paul.dll and gl.ini. When i copy these files into my retail game, it will convert it to EADM version an I can play without DVD and without downloading the whole game. Thanks.

I don't think this works anymore. It was possible in early patches (as I did it :p), but I believe that loophole got covered. Try mounting your image in alcohol, i've never had an issue with that.

If the problem continues, try running YASU to block Securom.

It works. I tried it before - installed BF2142 retail, then i downloaded EADM version, compared the 2 versions, and the only difference was in these 2 files. However I didn't backup and lost them.

I use Daemon tools and YASU, but its not working (even the older D-T version, which worked few weeks ago now fail).

I know the difference are those two files, but I believe you'd get kicked for an MD5 mis-match. Or have you tried it and it works?

Yes, it really works, even in 1.5 version. I played like that, its like you download the BF2142 via EADM, the only difference is these two files - so the BF2142 wont look for DVD in drive but check if you have BF2142 purchased via EADM.
