Sharqi 24/7 Servers, or a lack of!

I was just wondering how many people here would like to see a 24/7 Sharqi map (hosted by somebody, if not anybody)! There are only 2 I can find, one being Australian, and another having AutoAdmin (which I despiiiiissseeee).

Just wondering if anybody knows of any or if they don't, express how much greater life would be with one!

    Sharqi rulllllleeeesssss :yay:

I always preferred Sharqi to Karkand. Visually it's just a more appealing map. I guess the reason it's not popular was because before the debacle that is IO came to be, people hated Sharqi because of the helicopters and everyone stuck with Karkand, so when IO came out people were so used to Karkand they stayed away from every other map just out of habit. Overall, Sharqi's just a better map, though.

I, too, prefer Sharqi to Karkand.

I'd be surprised if in fact there were no 24/7 Sharqi servers.. isn't Sharqi the #2 played BF2 map? At one time it was, perhaps that's changed. IO really fragmented the community.. obviously it has a lot of fans since there are more IO servers than vehicle ones these days, but I've always felt BF2 was meant to be played with vehicles. I guess having options is a good thing, but IO just always seemed like a step backwards for this game IMO.

In my experience, the two main groups of people who prefer IO to regular BF2 are stat whores, and people who bought the wrong game. I guess a third group could be the aircraft-haters group, which I can sympathise with a bit since I think pretty much everyone can agree that the aircraft balance in BF2, isn't. The ground vehicles, however, are just fine and always have been. The maps were never balanced for IO because they were designed to be played with vehicles being a big part of their strategy. Even with IO mode, the only maps you see played are Karkand, Jalalabad, Ghost Town, and Warlord. Anyone played any Zatar Wetlands or Highway Tampa IO recently?

It's nice to see I (and a few of my clanmates) are not the only ones who enjoy a good Sharqi fraggin!

I was considering maybe buying one but I am not sure how much european popularitity it would have, IO or not.

Ripping up infantry with mi-28 cannon was the only thing I liked about that map, especially when friendly fire was off. lol
