Ive been getting a little more into Diablo 2 lately, mostly because of the hype of D3, and the hacking is going off the charts. I've seen more Map Hacks and More bots in the last two weeks then i had ever before. The general consensus believes that this is the case because blizzard is more focused on D3 and not caring about D2, Contrary to a recent post on the news update. Whats your opinion on whats happening to Diablo 2's Bnet? Do you think it will end up like diablo 1, riddled with hacked items and such?

Diablo isn't that hard a game...
I can understand in some FPS's, but DIABLO?!
Jesus. I loved that game untill I realised I took the wrong tree for my assassin. A trap based assassin is not easy in hell mode. But CHEATS?!
That's just low... and pathetic. It's a fairly easy game to understand and conquer.Comment

They don't use the cheats to beat the monsters. They use the cheats to piss off other players. Like I said, they're only happy when they're ruining the fun of others.Comment

Ok, please stop lol. Many people are using Maphacks, and bots. Certain clans are running bots day and night through Baal to A. Level themselves and B. Level other people. The reason while they are still persisting is because the admins are concentrated on D3. Thats it. I have yet to see anybody use any hack to annoy other people, just to do baal runs. Plus, People dont really care if they are banned from D2 now, D3 isnt too far off.
And, to reiterate on what vikaman said, i atm have a level 81 Lightning sentry asn and a level 10 orb sorc waiting for the rest of a Grush. Ive been playing this game since release, but many of my accounts have expired. Trap assassins are quite hard to play in hell, seeing as many monsters are lightning immune. The game is very easy, just time consuming. Thats why people are using bots.
And yes, i never play open battle.net so all i have observed is closed. But open is much much worse.Comment

Level 68 Lighting/Death Sentry Assassin here. Equally weighted in Claw Mastery and Burst of Speed.
It's good. But the traps are ... almost useless in Act 5.Comment
