  • Vehicle scale in bf2 compared to IRL

Has anyone ever realized how small the vehicles are in bf2? The airplanes and tanks are only like 15 feet long in the game, compared to 60 feet IRL.

It seems more apparent when you compare pictures (in this case the J-10 and Z-8):

I've just never taken the time to realize and compare it. Everything in bf2 is smaller respectively though (such as the gun firing ranges) so it makes sense/

Now that you mention it (between the lines), the carrier does seem pretty small.

How big is the Essex in BF2? IRL it's around 250 meters long.
ships of the same type on Google Maps.

Especially the area that jets have to operate in. I always thought jets didn't feel right in BF2 since you had to keep turning around to stay in the map.

Nice find. The carrier is really small, to make it fit with all the other vehicles. Guns like carbines and assault rifles are accurate up to half a mile IRL but in bf2 only a few hundred feet.

An example is the SA80 is about 300 meters with ironsights and 500-600 meters with a SUSAT optical sight.

And all for the sake of balance.

Every vehicle is 1:1. Every vehicle in the game has correct scale. I checked it long time ago in max.
