Useful BF2 Weapons and Vehicles Reference Guide

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted here in a while, but i thought i would share something that i just made with you. It's a bf2 weapons and vehicles quick reference guide that fits all on one page. It lists all of the weapons and vehicle kill messages that are located in the localization files in handy tables. Note that some messages such as GAU-12/U (jet gun) and Hydra 70 (cobra missile) can sporadically show up but are not explicitly written in the text file; as a result, i didn't include them.

Basically, if you've ever wondered what ALL the kill messages in bf2 are, this will help you!

So out of curiosity, was listing the G36E as Unlock 1 for medic as opposed to Unlock 2 an oversight or subtle humour?

Nope, didn't even think about it. Maybe it was subconscious because i always use it when i'm medic. Is there a specific order that the unlocks come in?

I think you have to own SF for the second tier unlocks. Been so long lol

Ah, so it was unintentional and just a rather humourous coincidence.

The first guns you unlock are: G36C, G3, M95, L85A1, PKM, DAO-12, and MK3A1. Those are the vanilla unlocks. The special forces unlocks, which can only be unlocked after the vanilla guns are the SCAR-L, F2000, L96A1, G36E, MG36, P90, and MP7. The part I found amusing was that you, apparently inadvertently, got all the vanilla unlocks listed as 'unlock 1' with the exception of the G36E (the L85A1 is the vanilla unlock for medic), and since G36E medics are kind of the running joke of the BF community I was amused at the oversight.

You did miss one and that is the gun that the jets have. I have only had the kill message once but it told me I was killed by the machine gun of the jet rather than the actual jet. I have since looked in the localisation files and have not found it... wierd. I believe it came up with the GAU-12/U (the gun used on the F-35)

You did miss one and that is the gun that the jets have. I have only had the kill message once but it told me I was killed by the machine gun of the jet rather than the actual jet. I have seen many of those before:

GAU-12/U
Hydra 70 (cobra missiles)
Name for the J10 bomb
APC side gun
etc..

But they are not 'official' so i didn't include them. These kill messages occur when you are killed by a bullet/object after it becomes 'separated' from the player in the jet, i.e. when they are disconnected or have bailed out before the bullet hit you. It's VERY rare.

I also didn't intend to list all the individual weapons of the vehicles (i.e. tank main gun is 120mm and machine gun is .50 cal, etc) because it all shows up under the name of the tank in the game.

I updated the image file for accuracy with the G36E. I totally forgot about that!
