    Most Realistic Fantasy MMORPG yet!

Here it is, I found out about this while searching for a new MMO to play earlier this week. Looks amazing, if you are into realism (or at least more realistic play) in the fantasy genre for MMOs, give it a check out.

Mortal Online is a First Person, open-world, Free to play, PvP MMORPG by the Swedish video game company Star Vault released on June 9, 2010. The game is inspired by the desire to return to Ultima Online's player-controlled, sandbox-style game design; it uses Unreal Engine 3 by Epic Games and feature

I believe I get what you're saying, but I just find it a little funny, "Most Realistic...

    Fantasy"

    lol.

I do see what you're saying though. It looks like they took a LOT from the LoTR movies and also some from Morrowind. It's like LoTR meets Morrowind. Still, better looking then say WoW. The death animations seem to need some work as it goes from sword hit to instant bloody death where the body flips to the ground. There is potential though.

the video you are referring to is early beta footage, the main beta is going to start on the 13th and the game is estimated to be released around October sometime.

When I say realistic I mean more in terms of realism - IE things don't happen that shouldn't - sheep do not drop swords etc. There is a lot to it, way to much to explain.

If you are interested, read around in the forums and on the main page, lot of potential here I think.

haha, yeah, I was just messing with you. :p

It actually does look like it could be a good MMORPG. I've never gotten into one of those b/c I'm afraid with my OCD/addictive personality, I would lose all sense of my RL. :icon_eek:

there is no grind - you do whatever you want

If you read at the bottom it says that all the money from that bidding would go to the Doctors Without Borders foundation. So it was most likely some guy that wanted the game and decided to spend his donation money for that year here.

By grind, i mean actually doing the stuff you do in the game. you dont "Grind" in oblivion either, but i mean in general going through the quests and all the stuff. Idk, i just need a break from FP.

Hmmm looks somewhat interesting. The four things I would require before I play a MMORPG game would be 1. a fair amount of realism (not loads of magic or crazy beasts, but things similar to real life), 2. real time combat, 3. no monthly fee, and 4. non-outrageous costumes (either stupid looking armor or silly boobs-bursting-at-the-seams female "armor"). It seems it has a half-way decent universe and realtime combat, but I won't pay a monthly fee, with I assume it has.

lol, I have these same thoughts...unfortunately, one of those 4, if not more, is in every single mmorpg lol!

                        Sounds a bit like Darkfall.
