What joysticks are you guys using?

I'm looking for a joystick, primarily for use in 1943 when it's available and any game after that. I was a fairly good pilot with keyboard, but it doesn't give me enough flexibility.

I don't really want to spend too much and don't need an individual control, so what do you guys suggest?

I became pretty good with just the keyboards. I'd use a joystick but would probably take forever to get the hang of it.

I've had the same logitech attack 3 since I first bought BF2. Some of the buttons finally gave out after all this time, but it's still a great stick (now combined with WASD to make up for the lost buttons). It costs about $30 and is totally worth it. It has 3 thumb buttons that (when they worked) I used as altFire, afterBurner, turnLeft, and turnRight.

Since I have to use the WASD now, I can't easily change views to look behind me, but it's not the sticks fault.

Oh, and I also use this stick for flying helicopters (I know most use the mouse) and it really kicks *** with the dumbfire missiles.

Saitek cyborg evo, pretty standard joystick really, as you said, KB and mouse were much better in bf2, but for pretty much any flying game its a decent joystick with some quite nice adjustable features, and its only 20 quid :p

Saitek X45 here, though I think I'm in the minority.

Great stick / throttle combo tho, had to finally replace it in '08 after 3 years of HARD use with BF2. Looked at other options, mainly the X52 Pro, but found it to be too fragile for the type of flying I do in BF2 (ended up getting it for FSX)

Most of the setups I looked at as a replacement had twist-motion rudders, which I just don't like. The throttle piece on the X45 has a rocker button on the underside for rudder control and makes for much better precision yaw movements than trying to twist 3 axis' at once IMO. Ended up buying another X45 and still loving it.

At any rate.. the Attack 3 and Cyborg Evo used to be the most popular (might still be) and are pretty easy on the wallet.

I have at least 10 years old Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro, and it's working perfectly and I use it almost every day 1-2 hours. Why it's still working - because it's optical so no moving parts inside. You can still buy them from Amazon or Ebay.

I'm tempted by the Cyborg Evo. Anyone have any experience of whether the Wireless version is any good. If possible, I don't want to have it cabled, or is it like wireless mice, they are a bit pants?
