    Gotta Love EA Support

Now I have had issues with EA before and I thought I would tell you about my first issue before I go into my second just to show you how stupid EA is. The problem was my CD key on the back of my manual was missing a character so I contacted EA support to try and get them to help resolve the issue.

    Thank you
Seemed to me like a reasonable request.

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Technical Support, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're encountering with The Sims 2 Pets. If you are trying to install The Sims 2 Pets and the code is only 19 characters long, then it is missing the last letter or number. This was due to a misprint on a small number or manuals and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

There is currently a work around that may allow you to bypass this issue. Since you have the first 19 characters of the code already, you can basically try "guessing" the last character. To do this, simply enter your existing code, and then for the last character, try the letters A-Z, and then the numbers 0-9. You should eventually get the right combination, and be able to play the game. If this does not work, you can follow the instructions below.

    Thank you,

    Sean

:censored: THE SIMS 2 PETS!!! GUESSING!!! WHAT KIND OF F***ING WORKAROUND IS THAT. It did work though so I dropped the ticket.

Now just a few days ago I was really missing BF2 and I had lost the game and CD key so I figured I could just buy it off of EA downloader to save a trip to the store and be playing within a few hours. So I buy the complete collection (they wouldn't let me digitally download the original by itself). I go through the whole download and installation process and then at the end I think I'm ready to play. I hit the play button and then I get the message "This game could not start, please logon to EA Down loader to verify your ownership".

So I thought that I just had to log out then log back in, then I tried restarting and reinstalling both BF2 and EA down loader but to no avail. I then realized I would have to contact the created EA customer support.

I have looked all over the internet and have only found hundreds of other frustrated users with no real solution. I have just downloaded it today and I am sure that it is only on one computer and not installed multiple times.

I know I was a bit quick to anger but the response was obviously automated and their knowledge base sucks.

I have yet to get a response the past few days but in the mean time I ordered the physical copy and it is in the process of being shipped. I thought the Downloaded version would save time but I guess it only saves time when you don't have incompetent morons to deal with.

I dont get it, you started with BF1942, then changed to BF2 mid way? No wonder they were confused.

Thats odd on my ticket it shows I said 1942, its probably because I have BF2 in my spell check dictionary but not bf1942 and I changed it.

I'm confused, are you trying to verify ownership for BF2 or BF1942?
If it's BF2 then 1 thing that confuses things is if your BF2 account uses a different email address to your EA Download Manager account.

I don't think it has anything to do with my BF2 account since I can't even start the game up. my EADM email and my EA email do match up as well so I don't see how that could be the issue.

I'll give it a shot though once I finish reinstalling for the third time.

Seems like everyone was just having a bad day when you submitted that ticket to me. I have never had a support ticket go that far off topic before with them.

Maybe the ticket reply AI was only running at half capacity at the time.

1 liners or wall of garble get filed, in the bin. Mix up between BF1942 & BF2 gets pure mocking

ok I managed to get the game working now however whenever I try to play multiplayer I get kicked for inadequate OS privileges. Yes I do run Vista and make sure to run it as an Admin and yes I disabled the UAC. It has to be something with the EADM.

Try reinstalling punkbuster and running the pbsvc service installer.
Should be located in your system32 folder.
