EA stated recently PC is their biggest market, expect big bucks and resources being spent on the beef , canna wait.

Wish the hardware front would catch up, see if the iC5 can clock 5 lol, want 6 for BF3

Because the same state of the map environment has to be the same for all 64 players, unless the physics don't affect gameplay.

I just hope they take their time with this game and do it right. I'll build a new PC just for the joy of playing a decent game with longevity. I built a rig for BF2 and it bf2 outlasted my rig, lol.

You are part of the problem. Morons think that in order to play games they have to spend $2000 on a "gaming" PC. Having stupid *** blue LEDs on everything does not make it special for gamers.
Yeah, but that PC you are pricing up is hardly at the cutting edge of PC technology? Yes, it will play most games maxed but only because most games are console ports and simply not very demanding. But in PC games where their is lots of room for upping eye candy and performance (Far Cry 2) and/or quite simply are very poorly optimised (Crysis) you will not come close to maxing out with the above specs (and by maxing out I mean at high resolutions, at least 2FSAA, and a solid 60FPS with vsync ON). By this time next year, I wouldnt be happy at all with the above rig. So what would my options be, spend the same amount all over again this time next year or spend more now on a rig that is going to last and also with a motherboard that is more future proof regarding upgrades?

For the record, my cynicism tells me that BF3 will primarily be a console game also released on PC. If this is the case, then I wont be buying it and will likley stick with BF2 which is still very popular even today. However, by 2011, PC gaming technology is going to be an order of several magnitude ahead of what the 360/PS3 can do (a good PC gaming rig is already seeming 2-3 times more powerful than consoles from an 'end user' perspective). For this reason alone, it is quite possible that the developers will want to make BF3 a pioneering effort which will provide the dev team with a wealth of R&D and knowhow on working with next generation technology.....and of course if they get the game right it will make an absolute killing non-the-less.

Wat? Far Cry 2 looks like complete crap and Crysis beats half the games that came out during the same time even when played on medium, not to talk about when maxed. Crysis wasn`t that badly optimized as people made it out to be. Crysis has lots of graphical features that games now are just starting to implement.

FC2 looked quite good if I'm not mistaken, I had to turn the GFX down.

On my gaming PC with DX10.1 enabled and most things maxed (I cannot totally max this game and get acceptable frame rates), FC2 looks utterly stunning, much nicer infact than Crysis does! Doesnt stop the game being utterly boring but it certainly looks lovely.

The fantastic thing about Crysis was/is the hugely destructable environments. I thought overall it was a fantastic single player game and loved hiding ducked down in a big load of bushes whilst I could see the air-trailers of the bullets, the swishing and resulting breaking off of the leaves, and best of all, the odd RPG causing whole trees to be uprooted.......But seeing how it runs even without all that physics going on and comparing it with the likes of FC2, I can easily say that it is poorly optimised.

Technology has in fact far outstripped any games on the market. These days are way different from when Crysis came out. Now Crysis can be run with no problems on max settings. GTX295 can kick any game's butt easily. Downside is that its $500.

I guess it`s a matter of taste then. Played FC2 maxed out and imo, everything looked bland, overly bloomy, contrastish and very static (not "alive").

If BF3 would handle colour, shadows and physics like Crysis does, then i`d preorder it in a heartbeat.

Call of duty is getting old for me.

I cannot wait for the next bf, no other franchise in the industry has been able to replicate the gameplay of bf.

Same here, Reaper. COD5 is fun in it's own way, but nowhere near the variety that the Battlefield series has always brought to the table. Even just 1.5 patch pulled me off COD5. I'd much rather play even an old Battlefield game with some new content than a COD game.

It will jumpstart PC gaming and will sell GPUs and Processors. Nvidia and Intel should do a BF3 sale on all their latest stuff when BF3 comes out!

Even though I want BF3 to be PC exclusive, I'm pretty sure it'll be cross-platform. Say BF3 comes out in a year or two. That'll be perfect timing for new game after BC2. DICE will most likely make tons of money if they go cross-platform. I don't mind that if DICE does the PC version first then the console. BF2:MC was like that, why not do the same. Or....Have 2 teams, 1 console team, 1 PC team. If DICE tells us that the console version will in no way affect the PC version, then I'm sure there will be many happy campers.

Frostbite 2.0 with Dx11 will allow for more bandwidth and more players. I doubt it'll be more than 64 players. The Destruction just takes too much bandwidth. You never know what could happen though. Hopefully FB 2.0 allows for more variety ingame. I wast BF3 to be the sequel to BF2 not BC2. GOO DICE!!!

I dunno man I honestly think there is a strong chance of this being PC only, you look at what Dice has done with cross platform Battlefield in the past (Bad Company), they understand what the PC market wants and what they enjoy, Battlefield 2 alone sold a stupid amount of copies then they get money from server rentals etc etc

you look at ATIs next generation of graphics cards as well, I don't think the frostbite engine will be an issue for those
