Viewing CoD4 video?

So I did the /record and /stoprecord thing in console (~) to capture some in game footage yet I have no clue as to how I'm meant to view the video.. I know you have to use the game to view it but how? Whenever I try to open the files using the game application as the pathway I get this error..



I have tried to google instructions but they all just say "use the game to open the video" and nothing further..

P.S. is this the only way to play the file? I was reading somwhere that there's a program you can download that plays them with the ability to stop, pause, fastforward etc..
