I have never played the first TF or TF2. So is it worth getting? I never did like counter strike so I hope it isn't like that.

Re: Is TF2 worth playing?
It's a great game both for just fooling around and for serious business. All the classes are very different so you'll rarely get bored, classes can interact in so many different ways you just need teamwork to win, which is great. If you can find a good server where people actually use voice, you're in for a fun time.
But yeh, it's nothing for those that can't play a game unless it's "realistic". If you've ever played a Quake game it's a bit similar in style, but... easier. :pComment

One of the best games I have played, and now with the new update everyone gets the new guns, its a casual teamwork game, and its extremely fun, especially if you are playing with a few guys you know/from TGN.Comment

Possibly one of the best games out there that comes as a full package, i.e its not broken, regular patches and updates, large community, lots of custom maps and it is a really really fun game :)Comment

Re: Is TF2 worth playing?
Here's another perspective. For the last few yrs, I've been watching the online player numbers of a number of FPS games, via the gamemonitor.com website to look for trends and see how the various games are doing vs each other over time.Originally posted by stilla-killaI have never played the first TF or TF2. TF2 has not only been very strong and consistent, it has actually been increasing in player numbers. In the first few months after release, it consistently held the #5 spot, behind BF2, COD4, CS:S, and CS. However, over time, it has been regularly bumping BF2 and even COD4 from time to time. Even on "down" nights, when other games show a noticeable drop in players, TF2 has actually held up well.
With the recent updates, it appears to have gained momentum, for the short term at least. Tonite, for example, CS is #1, but TF2 is actually #2 by a wide margain (followed by CS:S, COD4, BF2).Comment

Re: Is TF2 worth playing?
Last time I tried using my mic on TF2 in the OC, everyone was chatting and being distracting. Big Adam explained to me this is normal. I wasn't impressed.Originally posted by iQueIf you can find a good server where people actually use voice, you're in for a fun time.Comment
