    ^^

If the opponent blocks all your punches/kicks to the head, try some punches/kicks and kicks to the body and legs to open up the defense.

Usually the AI starts to protect the stomach what leaves the head unprotected...

I've been getting alot better at the ground game today. If they are in full mount, doing a minor transition followed by a major transition a few times usually gets me out of it. If they really won't get off I just try to take the least amount of damage and wait for the end of the round.

Or I just fight standing up, on one of my careers I have fought Michael Bispon(?) 4 times and each time i've knocked him out under 1 minute. Unfortunately my next fight is usually a Rank 4 who always fights on the ground, making me lose and pushing me down again.

        You mean Michael Bisping... :)

The weird part for me is that im much better in the ground than standing(it doesn't mean that i can't put you to sleep when standing )...

Maybe it's because i played as Chuck Liddell in the demo. And when difficulty was on Expert, Shogun took me to the ground as soon as the round started. So i got really good practise from that...

I played Expert on demo, and knocked out Liddell in 30 seconds with Shogun... I've also knocked out my bro in about 11 seconds or so with Liddell...

I'm not that good on the ground, get me in full mount and I'll panic and try and grab your punches too much

I played online today, first match was ranked - and he got me on the ground and I kept reversing him but then he reversed back, he got in full mount in the last 10 seconds of round 1 and made me groggy... I was lucky the round was over... then in round 2 - I kept trying to punch and get some strong hooks in but he ducked one of my punches and got a lucky fist and knocked me out Was a good fight...

The 2nd online match, the guy kept high-kicking and high punching me, and I kept missing the block, I'd block too early and then try punch him thinking I blocked his punch He knocked me down in first round and I was groggy, but I got up fast... then in the 2nd round I played better, I blocked his high-kicks and punched him in the chest for a bit, then elbow'd him in the face and knoced him down, then he got up fast, then I did it again, and went over him to punch him but he was able to get up... then about 4 more punches he went down again, so I walked over him and TKO'd him... He rage quited after I won...

I still can't beat Yushin Okami on Career He's full mounted and knocked me out soo many times in the past 2 days... I can punch him in the face, jab him, then punch his chest, but then he low kicks and punches my chest, then my face, then he usually goes for a take down and sometimes gets it... although whenever I try kick him he usually counters with the take down at that point

I don't think I'll be able to beat him with my guy, we're both Boxing/Wrestler guys but he's like 88 Overall and I'm 33...

You pretty much have 2 options in the career. Either try to stand up with Okami, and when he gets you down just keep the right analog stick to the left or right and wait for the ref to stand you guys up. Or try to reverse him as fast as possible and when you get on top, click L3 to stand up.

Or the second option is to just accept the loss. This happened to me with Rampage, there was no way i could win him. Because he's waaaay too strong and with the single collar tie and the upper cut spam. It's impossible to win him. Well, atleast he was, until i got my strenght/cardio and speed up...

I really don't understand the rage quitters online... Is the stats really that important to them that they can't accept the fact that they just got their a$$ kicked?

I think there might be some 10 kill streak Award for online or something? So maybe they rage to get that... :/ but yeah, there's apparently lots of rage quitters, and there's also people complaining about spammers who keep high kicking or punching... I hate whiners.... especially whiners who think they are good but complain about spammers like that... sure if you're getting high-kicked alot, just block and go back then take them down as they'll probably be gassed after all those high-kicks... simple.

well my contract expired I finished like 3rd or 2nd in the light heavyweight.. it really pissed me off to because I was so close to winning just a few more matches.

I still could not win in the match went to the matt, I would press a million buttons and swivle the right stick around like crazy hoping to get out, sometimes that worked sometimes that didn't. I got my boxing skills up to lvl3 near the end and my wrestling stayed at 1.

I pretty much played all the more i need to on career for a review just need to do some online, classic fights and a few more exhibitions.

I personally have no problem with people who spam high kicks or punches. They just deplete their stamina faster, after that it's easy to make them tap..

And that 10 wins in a row trophy. For that, i could undestand the quit. But when there's someone with a record of 100-0. Then it's just ridiculous..

THQ should change the quit thing, so when you do quit during a match, it would be marked as a loss to your records...

                  @Manzi

I made it to the Hall Of Fame when my career ended. And i kept the belt until the end.

Apperantly my boxing skills combined with the strength/speed and cardio was too much for the Light Heavyweight division...

i maxed my basic training skills to the point that anymore would make the others go lower. i just lost by getting put to the ground almost everytime that i did loose.

                      ^^

I think i read from the GameSpot forums that the best way to build your CAF is first max all the basic skills(Strenght, Speed and Cardio) and then start Sparring.

Then when you do get loads of from Sparring, you put all the points to one skill. For example, one week you get 100 points, you put all them to the takedown defense, and next week you put all the points to submission offense and so on...

I did do this, and it was just too little too late..

Are the first 10 or so guys easy to beat b/c I end up kicking the crap out of them. Then again I do have it on easy. What level of difficulty are you all playing on?

I usually play all the exhibition matches on expert, but i played the career on experienced because i wasn't sure how difficult it would be...

Im thinking about starting new career and bumb up the difficulty...

I have it on experienced, just because I wasn't sure how career would be... and I played the demo on expert like StoneCold...

I got past Yushin Okami, I basically stayed away from him, jabbed him alot, then he'd go for a take down and I'd reserve it, he was able to mount me once, and then I reserved that and got full mount on him and got a couple hits in before he reserved me. It was a good match, lots of reservals.
I won by unanimous descision with a score of 29-28 for all 3 rounds. That's how close the game was. He took me down a few times but I knocked him down a few times.
I knew I won round 1, but round 2 and 3 - I didn't do as good. At the end, I was bleeeding in two spots, and he was bleeding in two spots too... although he got me bleeding in the first round, and I only made him bleed near the end of round 2. :)

Then, I played the next guy, and the commentors were saying how he has a Knock out punch, you know at the start of the match, when they just talk about your opponent. Then I suddenly did a normal left punch and it knocked the guy out... 30 seconds into the round

Now I could have gone for the title shot, I'm 10-0, but I decided I'd go for the 2nd ranked guy and work my way up (I've had title shot for the past battle too). Now 2 weeks into the "7 weeks before match" - Someone was injured, so now I'm taking on Rich Franklin with only 77% Stamina...

I remember starting the 1st round and running up to my opponent thinking I would hit with a vicious running punch and right when I got up to him I started to swing but he was faster and hit me first and knocked me right on my *** lol.

Or the time I was wooping up on the computer oppenent and thinking I had this guy, only a matter of time before I knock him out and he gets a lucky kick to my jaw and knocks me out cold lol.
