    UFC Undisupted

    Anyone got it?

My bro got it earlier today, it's pretty good...

You can only fight people in the same weight class, although a few fighters are in two classes, like BJ Penn is in Welterweight AND Lightweight...

There's 3 different referees, and about 6 different arenas - I hope they get some more arenas in future DLC...

Create-a-Fighter - well this being a THQ/Yukes game, they've got plenty of experience from past WWE games, the C-a-F is decent, but it would be nice to have more options to pick for player nicknames... and if they included some tattoos that actually span across the whole back... as at the moment 'very big' is the default size and it's not that big...

I noticed when they introduce two fighters at the start of the match, the game pauses slightly before the annoucer says there name (just before the crowd cheers) - hopefully they can fix this slight pause in a patch...

Classic Fight mode is pretty cool, as you get to relive some of the classic matches like Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz (Liddell won in round 3 defending the title) - when you win those matches, you unlock short clips from those matches which is pretty awesome...

If you've not played the demo, I suggest you get it now off PSN... the game is great if you enjoyed the demo, if you're looking for a fighting game and you're not into Fight Night Round 4, then you should get this... although Boxing and UFC is pretty different...

    I have it...

It's really awesome game when it comes to the actual fight. But there's few things i wish THQ would have fine tuned before the release.

The menus are bit slow. What is kinda annoying. And in the career mode, when you need to put some sponsor logos to the trunks, it's reeeeally annoying.

It goes something like this: Customize fighter -> Edit appearance -> Edit trunks -> custom trunks -> edit trunks -> customize trunks and then you can choose the sponsor and place where to put it. And when you are finished, you need to get out from the menus. And instead of putting (for example)[Start] -> Finished. They put the 'finished' button all the way to the first screen. And with slow menus, going all the way back to the first screen, like i said before, is reeeeally annoying.

And then there's the email thing in the career. I really haven't figured out why it's there. Because all you get is some newsletters(2-3 times per week). And some messages from Dana etc.

At first, i just deleted all the newsletters(what you can do after you have opened it). But then i just got bored to it. And now im not even checking the email anymore. Since if i really want to delete newsletters and spam, i just check my second real email account.

And in the normal matches, i have one thing to complain about.

You can't mix weight classes. Ok, it's not done in the UFC either. But, come on... It's not like i have the Nevada State Athletic Commission(thank you, google!) standing behind me and watching me play.

But other than these few small things, i gotta say that the game is really entertaining, and the graphics look really good.

I think that this game should keep me busy atleast until Fight Night Round 4 comes out...

I have it and will be reviewing it. The game has a lot of faults but for an MMA game is very good and true to the sport.

          I have it.

Probably just me doing something wrong but do some people find that in the Camp Invites, the tasks dont always work. And I really don't have the hang of Transitions yet.

I cannot at all get out of the whatever its called when you are on the ground. i move the right stick around like crazy but i cant get the guy off of me and get up. so I HIGHLY rely on my boxing skills.

When it comes to ground game, tutorial is a really good place to start. Then move to the exhibition matches. And just practise...

Getting up from full mount/half guard/open guard etc. I personally keep R1 pressed at all times(so i don't get my head pounded through the mat). And then move the right analog stick from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock.

And in some positions(like when you are fully mounted) you have to use L1 and the right analog stick to get up or transition to a position where you can get up.

To avoid getting submitted, you need to keep an eye on your stamina. If you are gassed you are just easy prey.

In the demo, i turned the stamina meter on to get an idea how the stamina works. And now i have pretty good idea when im low on stamina, or when my opponent is...

                Re: UFC Undisupted

Yea like what StoneCold313 said, you have to watch your stamina and you're "health" - if you get punched with a hook or an elbow directly to the chin, it usually hurts alot, and if they do the same thing again in the space of a second you'll usually end up knocked out... it's pretty hard to knock someone out in the first 20 seconds but I was doing it quite a few times with Chuck in the demo (against Hard mode).

What's great is that, if you notice your enemy going for a high kick with there left leg, then just do a short low kick to there right leg and it'll knock them down... then you can dive onto them and into full mount and start pounding them...

The tutorial is great, and you should deffinetly use it if you haven't done it yet... moving the right stick depends on the direction or something, you don't just button bash - or at least this is what I gathered...

Sometimes, I usually let the enemy punch me with quick jabs and hits, but I keep my guard up, I'm usually just waiting till his stamina goes down, or till he stops punching and lets his guard down - then I usually hit them with a hard punch (hold L1 then punch) or I sometimes run back a bit then jump at them with a punch or knee... once I get a couple of those in, then I can usually win the game...

Timing is key in this game, if the enemy is in full mount on top of you and is pounding you, let him punch you a couple times but you have to use R3 and try and grab his arm, that way you'll get him into a submission or you'll hold onto his head so hes not in full mount anymore... There is some positions where you can hold R3 down and you'll basically grab onto them so they can't move and you can't move - after 10 seconds or so, the ref orders you both to your feet. This is usually good if you're better at standing fights, rather then ground...

Also if you get people in the clinch, you can powerslam them if you're a wrestler, or you can always knee them in the face

Options -> Gameplay -> Stamina Meter = on

After you get the idea how the stamina works on the game. You might wanna turn the meter off again.

It takes away some of the experience when there's Tekken like stamina meter on the screen.

                    BTW,

i started my online career today. And after 4 fights i had 3 wins(2 submissions and 1 KO) and one defeat(by flash KO).

The online side is pretty cool. But there was lot of lag(THQ is looking into it). And apperantly there's lot of rage quitters too, but i didn't bumb into them.

                        ^^

I think i went to Ranked Match, and from there to Custom Match. And then let the filters be on default except for the UFC/CAF fighters, what i set to UFC only...

                        And to the career...

I think THQ could have made it just a little bit longer... 7 years just isn't enough.

I ended my career with 32 wins(all of them with either KO or TKO), and 3 losses(all KO's).

The problem is that my CAF really sucks a$$, i think the most points i have on the skills is like 86. And pretty much the rest of them is at 50(tops). Overall he is like 76...

Maybe i'll improve it if i start over since i now know what is the best way to build the CAF...

                          Re: UFC Undisupted

Started the Career today, as I was mainly playing on my Bro's PSN account...

My 2nd match (the first "cage match" after the gym match) - I won my TKO after a minute...

I kept winning by TKO until the 4th watch, when I was going into it with 70% stamina, and I thought I'd lose, so I didn't rush him at the start like I usually do... I walked up slowly to him, did a couple jabs, then into a combo then I got a left hook and knocked him out in 12 seconds... Got 2 trophies at once, and had unlocked 2 sponsors and a bunch of other stuff... it was so awesome

Then later on like on my 7th match, I was getting beat pretty badly in the first round, I was bleeding in 4 different places, and my enemy was only bleeding in one place... then 40 seconds into the 2nd round, when I was 'gassed' (out of stamina) - I somehow pulled out a huge right punch and knocked him out... :)

Now, I've gotta fight someone for rank 13 or something - I think... I'm Middleweight class... I keep fighting him and losing to him since he keeps getting into full mount and destorys me in 3 punches so I keep restarting the game since I want to go undefeated (well at least till I win the belt)

Keith "Dean of Mean" Jardine caused my first loss. I did restart too, but after he KO'd me the second time, i thought that i'll play the career through again and go undefeated.

Next loss came from Forrest Griffin, and the next from Quinton "Rampage" Jackson...

But after the Rampage loss i went to the undefeated streak, and i didn't loose any fights after that...

I need to work on transitions and ground control a lot more... I usually just fight them standing up and go for a knockout punch but lately they've been blocking my punches
