I think installing 1.41 over the top might work.

1.41 wouldn't have any instruction on how to replace certain files. Worth a try but I doubt it will work, best way is to probably reinstall as long as you have 1.41 downloaded it shouldn't take long.

Reinstalling is your best option. It won't take too long, and you can do it in the background while doing something else. Installing patches over each other isn't a good idea in BF2 with all the modified content errors, or it might refuse to "update" back to 1.4 unless you change stuff in the registry.
