We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.

Leave it the way it was. While i didnt get to play it much tampa was a great rest from the rapage. Also, Servers will probably pick the one with attack helis more often.
TC, it can't be a coincidence that someone with an attack heli in their avatar wants attack helis on Highway Tampa; it's essentially a turkey shoot (no knock on you, just pointing out my observation ). All that lovely armour rolling around with nowhere to run or hide from zomgwtfpwn300yardsaway TV missiles. Fun for the kid with the magnifying glass; not so much for the ants.
And you enjoy shooting down choppers with your PKM? Seriously?? I bet you could count on one hand without using your fingers how many times that's actually happened unless the pilot was sitting on the ground AFK (for, like, 3 minutes). Let's be at least a bit honest with ourselves here, yeah?
Also, like Deesies said, the jets in Tampa are fighters, not bombers, meaning it would take one helluva shot to OHK a tank with one. I don't doubt one bit that you'd salivate at the prospect of a map where there is plenty of armour to pick off without any fighter jets to buzz your heli. But it ain't gonna happen.
Yeah, I didn't want to start out posting anything negative right out the gate. But yes, it is a mild distraction from taking the poll seriously when you see options like that.
But I'm all for just a tank only map in BF2. My idea of just Little Birds only makes it dangerous for moving AT around the map.
You can look at it logically and it still wont work.
The hierarchie puts the attack helis at the top of the food chain. With tanks below followed by infantry. However this cannot work because the helis at the top are far too dominant with almost now counter to allow a balanced game.
In other maps it goes,
planes
helis
tanks
infantry
Atleast here, the most dominant is limited by ammunition. In tampa the limitation is very small and thus it is literally like a whale feeding on a shoal of fish.
What little I played of the original patch I mainly spent soloing a Cobra on Tampa.
I could outrange all the armor/AA, and the Tungskas MG tracers just acted as a large "TV ME PLEASE" sign. The ONLY threat to my survival would have been the Havoks, but given they were piloted by idiots, the map immediately became unbalanced and I could rape armor unchallenged.
It was sooo much fun though, if I was being selfish I'd be hassling DiCE to leave it with the choppers. But realistically, it's not an option unless the AA range is increased, or jets are introduced along with the choppers.
I'd say that it should be a jet only map - the jets would help to limit the armor and provide support to the infantry, but they wouldn't be ridiculously overpowering like a helicopter.
Maybe, with the improved miniguns, they could just increase the amount of transport helicopters - that would provide for some interesting gameplay (engineers being transported to repair tanks, etc.)
Both teams should have 1 jet to balance things out. Its so easy to take down a chopper in the jet, find it in AA mode, then quick switch to bomb mode and light em up
Sure add a chopper at the same time add 4 Mobile AA's to make it interesting. You can't have armor going around unprotected. BTW Intel owns Highway Tampa so I think its up to them.
