Goodbye bf2142 :)

Hi all

So i just have bf2142 for about a week now and it dint do the job for me. The main problem that i have whit it is that ther are no helicopters and no planes instead of that you get some strange mix beatween them and it just doest look good for my taste. If i see a one of them whitout enyone i dont even want to get on it. It just looks like a transport plane in my opion. The second problem is how the soldiers look the clothes look like some kind of a robocop type of thing and the same. Now in bf2 you could instantly know ho is a medic and ho is a sniper just by looking at the soldier , but in bf2142 the all look the same you rly need to get close at a soldier and check his gun to see witch class he is. I did like the hitdetection though its seems very solid and good.This was the main problem that i had whit bf2 thats why i olways whent as a sniper because his hit detection was extremly good. And in the conlusion its a fun game but it just doest match to bf2 in my opinion.

Everyone has different tastes in games and if you didnt like the look and feel, then thats how it goes. However, I dont think you gave the game a chance at all.

2142 is not BF2. Comparing the two is like comparing CoD2 to CoD4 to CoD5.

Also, the different types of kits do look different and you get to know the layout of them as you play more.

CoD4:MW2 will be coming in September, maybe that will be the game for you.

EDIT: Almost forgot. To save you some time, BF1943 will be nothing like BF2 either.

lol yeah I agree, and did you see the rims on those FAV's? Totally whack... but yeah you should consider playing a game for its actual gameplay rather than how it looks, but everyone is different. I like the way 2142 is played, but the reg in it is very hit or miss

Of course you are disappointed, You were expecting BF2 Pt2. You should just stick to BF2 if you want to play BF2. BF2 BF2 BF2 BF2, did i mention BF2?

It's like if i complained about GTAIV not being like San Andreas. No gangs? No Las Venturas? No Planes? My Character ain't Black? What a crap game!!!1111111111123423563675

Actually it's the absence of uberpowered vehicles that makes BF2142 the superior game IMO. The vehicles are good, fun to use, and powerful, but they are not the hand of God like the helis and planes in BF2. But, to each their own.

:laugh: thats a good one, It s not that i was expecting a bf3 out of this i knew i was going to see some si fi things its just that it dint gave me the
"WOOW this game is sick feeling ". And i might be wrong here but i think this is more an infantry based game from what i was playing. Mayby this was because ther was not much to choose based no the servers all i could find was suez kanal only server and highway tampa.

yeah 2142 is completely inferior to bf2 i agree:|:

in bf2142 im not good at looking at the easy details and listening to weapons to know what kits people have because i havent played long enough .

give it another week

He's right about the outfits, it's almost impossible to identify different classes. The plane/heli/hovering things are just lame and its controls make it feel like a console game especially the self correcting rubbish..
I have had it two nights now and to be 100% honest I'm already bored of it.. Not only is it inferior to BF2 but you wouldn't even think they were made by the same people.

The only thing keeping me in it now is the different things you can unlock, looking forward to making a solid assault class..

It's actually pretty easy once you are able to recognize the weapons by sight. Not to mention all Recon have a full face mask.

How do you figure? Give us some examples. There are things that BF2 does so badly(airpower) that they were specifically altered to work in a more team oriented way in BF2142.

i just think people that like bf2 and smash 2142 tend to be people that resist change

Maybe it's because I'm new but sitting there trying to figure out what class they are for anymore than 1-3 seconds usually results in me being sniped with an assault rifle 0_o

For me personally everything just seems soo rigid especially the air vehicles with their linear like controls, they are terrible and there are soo many anti-vehicle weapons that being in one for more than a couple of minutes is a death sentence where as BF2 was mostly vehicle dominant which isn't such a bad thing when the maps are soo vast like they are.

Don't take what I say as a personal vandetta against the game, these are just my first impressions of it.. The reason I said you wouldn't think BF2 and 2142 were made by the same people is because my first impressions from BF2 were soo incredibly great compared to this.. And NO I didn't expect this to be anything like bf2 I went into it with an open mind.

It's a great game there's no doubt there but it doesn't even come close to the enjoyment you can get out of BF2.

lol I noticed they made soloing a no no xD (don't know if that is good or bad)

P.S. One thing I do REALLY like about this game is the unlock system, it's great!

people, you need to look at the backpacks in 2142 to recognize their class as well as their outfitting.

oh and 2142 looks 10 times better than BF2 if you ask me.

of course if looks are that important to make me stop playing, i'd buy a 10k rig to play crysis.
