    As of the 1.5 beta, BF2 no longer needs the CD in the drive to play.

    2142 should definitely get the CD-check removed since you need an EA account (which is linked to your CD key, one account per key) to play, and you can't log on with the same account as someone else at the same time (they get disconnected).

      I can easily say I'd play BF2142 more often if I didn't have to leave the disk in.

        no brainer, it will be added to the 1.51 patch. about time they do this, should've been like this from the beginning since we use cd-keys and login/password to authenticate anyways.

              mini image doesnt work with 2142 like BF2. it needs a full image.

                3gb maxi image won't take up much space, unless you have some really naff old hdd. I use a maxi image for 2142 and a mini image for BF2. Still have sh*t loads of space.

                  Actually, 6 gigs is quite a bit of space. Space that I would rather have for something else. By itself, not a lot, but those 3 gig files add up fast.
