Yeah, development hours. Making a batch that would integrate all the pieces together would require development hours. Tweaking the Server patch to allow it. I don't think they could just toss it out there without having to do some code updates in the backend.

The pieces are already integrated. You just download both .exe files and run them. They're only map packs. You're trying to make a simple task more complicated for no reason.

1: Change Booster price to $0 on EA Downloader
2: Put an announcement in BF2 that says "Boosters are now available free of charge. Go to http://eastore.ea.com/ for details."
3: Put a news/announcement piece linking to Booster pack pages with new prices of $0 on http://eastore.ea.com/
4: Profit

Total EA/Dice employee time: 15 minutes max
There are no code updates to do, as each player would just sign up for an EA Store account and download the Boosters the same way everyone who already bought them did. The price would just be $0.
But that would be giving away something for nothing, and EA frowns upon such a stupid move.

I own both and I wouldn't mind if it were to be given away now. I would love to see more people play these awesome maps.

I'm not talking about asswipe suits who hold things up for money. People are saying it will take development man-hours to do this, I disagree. I already said that administrative BS and money are what would keep this pipe dream from becoming a reality. So, it looks like you actually agree with me.

DICE couldn't fix the EU right transport gun in 2142 (even though DTneter fixed it himself) because of "legal issues".

Just making them free isn't enough. To get the result we want they must be in an official patch so all people playing on ranked servers will have them. How many people have never bothered to download the already free ranked Highway Tampa map meaning no servers will run it except in a 24/7 all by itself?

Nope you should all pay for it just like I have as well as my friends.

Honestly get a job, its less than 20$ CAD now to buy it. If you cant afford that than you have serious issues and need to redirect you're time from playing games and towards a job.
